The Account Executive, Retail Enterprise is a seasoned sales professional focused exclusively on selling Smart Answering solutions to large retail enterprise accounts—specifically businesses with over 200 locations. Working in close collaboration with Enterprise SDRs and BDRs, this role concentrates on building relationships, understanding complex customer needs, and driving the sales process from tailored solution presentations through negotiation and deal closure.
In this role, you will:
- Partner closely with Enterprise SDR and BDR teams to receive a robust pipeline of qualified enterprise leads.
- Leverage the prospecting efforts of the SDR/BDR teams to focus on relationship building and strategic sales engagements.
- Manage the end-to-end sales process starting from in-depth needs analysis, solution presentation, and tailored proposal development through contract negotiation and closing.
- Focus on engaging senior-level decision makers within large, multi-location retail enterprises.
- Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders at enterprise accounts.
- Act as a trusted advisor by understanding and addressing the unique challenges and objectives of large retail organizations.
- Deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations that align with the strategic goals of enterprise clients.
- Customize proposals and value propositions to address complex, large-scale business requirements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies within the retail enterprise space.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product, and Customer Success, to shape strategic initiatives that enhance enterprise customer engagement.
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets specific to the enterprise segment.
- Provide detailed sales forecasts, account updates, and performance metrics to management.
- Work with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from sales to implementation and ongoing customer support.
- Share insights from enterprise engagements to inform product improvements and service enhancements.
We would love to hear from you if:
- You have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- You have 12+ years of proven Enterprise Sales experience, preferably with a focus on large retail accounts or enterprise technology solutions in similar markets.
- Possess and utilize an extensive network of industry contacts to expedite the sales cycle and drive rapid business impact.
- You have demonstrated the ability to navigate complex, high-value negotiations and secure mutually beneficial deals.
- You have exceptional presentation and communication skills with a proven track record of influencing senior decision-makers.
- You have experience working with or in collaboration with SDR/BDR teams, with a strong understanding of the handoff process in enterprise sales cycles.
- You have familiarity with CRM systems and sales analytics tools to drive data-informed decision-making.

This position is available for remote work across the Pacific, Mountain, Central, Eastern timezone(s) in the United States, except for the states listed below. SoundHound AI DOES NOT offer employment in Alabama, Alaska, Delaware, Iowa, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Regardless of workplace arrangement, employees within a 60-mile radius of a SoundHound AI office are expected to work from the office on three pre-scheduled, company-wide “core days” per month to encourage cross-team connection and in-person collaboration.
The estimated salary for this position is $100,000 - $155,000 plus variable pay and equity. The OTE range is $200,000-$310,000. In addition to salary, variable pay, and equity, you will receive comprehensive healthcare, paid time off, and other benefits. Our recruiting team will provide a specific salary range based on location and years of experience.
