eHealth connects people with quality, affordable health insurance through a proprietary marketplace offering Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Medicare Part D, individual, family, employer, and ancillary plans from 200 health insurance carriers nationwide. As part of eHealth’s transformation, we are seeking a Senior Director of Strategic Partner Marketing and Business Development that will be responsible for developing and executing consultative and solution sales methodologies to engage and generate new business and expanded relationships for Medicare, Employer and Individual health insurance products. Reporting to the VP of Affiliate & Strategic Partners, this role will involve strategic planning, leadership of a medium-sized team, value-based selling of marketing solutions on enterprise size deals, and collaboration across various departments to maximize partner success.

The Sr. Director, Strategic Partner Marketing and Business Development can be based anywhere in the US. The role’s compensation includes a combination of base salary and commission on new and retained business.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement long-term partner marketing and business development strategies that drive enrollments and retain members.
  • Create innovative partner solutions that drive revenue and profit growth across new and existing partners.
  • Identify, negotiate, and establish high ROI strategic partnerships with key players/executives in the Pharmacy, Provider, Financial and/or Senior Lifestyle & Content verticals, focusing on mutual growth opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a strategic roadmap of prospective industries and partners, creating data-driven decision matrix to drive prioritization
  • Establish processes and ROI methodology to guide partner deal reviews, approvals and cross-organization resource prioritization
  • Guide development of business development support: prospect outreach, pitch deck, case studies, deal templates, downloadable marketing assets, etc.
  • Develop value-based selling solutions and customer journey maps, tailored to each partner’s growth agenda highlighting joint partner and eHealth growth opportunities.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of marketing campaigns that drive leads through partner marketing and tactics.
  • Develop a deep understanding of eHealth’s technology and services so that you can influence ecommerce and marketing innovation that drives growth for eHealth and our partners.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of business development and account management professionals.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, competitive positioning, and opportunities for growth.
  • Measure and analyze the success of partner programs and campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with sales, product, engineering and retention teams to ensure alignment and maximize the impact of partnership initiatives.
  • Manage the forecast and budget for partner marketing and business development activities, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Report out to executive management on initiative and strategy progress and financial result.
  • Travel as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in partner marketing, business development, or a related role, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Broad and deep existing relationships across the Pharmacy, Provider, Financial and/or Senior Lifestyle & Content landscapes to immediately lever actionable business opportunities.
  • Ability to build key management relationships with enterprise partners, leveraging multi-channel marketing campaigns and digital solutions to achieve financial objectives
  • Expertise in identifying, nurturing and closing partner pipeline
  • Experience in market development, identifying short and long-term industry and partner growth opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to create and sell partner marketing tactics and strategies based on understanding partner and consumer motivation, pain points and journeys.
  • Data-driven approach to develop and manage prospect pipeline, marketing tactics, resource allocation and ability to deliver high ROI, on time and on budget
  • While not required, a deep understanding of Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Part D, Medicare Supplement, Employer and Individual insurance landscapes, is strongly desired.
  • The ability to articulate eHealth’s value proposition to both partners and consumers.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience operating with a sales quota or commission-based model.
  • Proficient in creating and presenting sales decks and clear support communications to influence C-suite partners.
  • Experience and comfort working in an entrepreneurial environment, operating at a fast pace and fluid nature to adapt the changing needs of the consumer, the regulatory environment, and the business.
  • Ability to travel extensively.

The base pay range reflects the anticipated pay range for this position. The actual base pay offered will depend on various factors including individual skills, experience, performance, qualifications, the department budget, and the location where work is performed. Base pay is one component of eHealth’s total rewards package, which also includes a monthly commission-based incentive plan, plus an array of benefits designed to support employees’ personal and professional wellness.
