This position is in Cargill’s food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Account Manager (Open to Remote) will focus on a few of the company's large or very complex customers within a designated geographic territory or market. In this role, you will handle critical or complex products that require excellent client relationship skills to maintain competitive positioning.
This will be a home office role but needs to reside in territory: Northeast US (preferred location is Greater Boston area) also surrounding states such as NY, CT, PA, and NJ. Up to 40% travel is required to cover the area of responsibility.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop a plan to establish and maintain account relationships and meet personal sales targets.
- Build a business plan for each account. Develop a detailed account plan for the most strategic accounts in your territory and develop a franchise account plan for your entire territory.
- Coordinate use of resources to provide value added services to accounts.
- Develop strong client relationships that provide significant input to planning product, price, and service strategies.
- Prepare for the negotiation process and negotiate all accounts within the franchise to meet financial objectives.
- Support supervisor and other sales professionals in developing new market opportunities in the designated territory or market.
- Collaborate with different internal stakeholders to better understand and manage customer opportunities and requirements.
- Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of four years of related work experience in sales, business development or related field.
- Strong presentation skills comfortable presenting in front of customers and face to face interaction.
- Able and willing to travel up to 40%.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Sales experience working with large food manufacturing business.
- Experience in understanding customer needs, articulating customer objectives, and adding value to partnerships, demonstrated negotiation and value-based / consultative sales skills.
- Experience with Salesforce or customer relationship management software.
Applicant Information
The expected salary for this position is $100,000 to 140,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
