About the Job
US National Medical Field and Stakeholder Engagement Lead, Solid Tumors role is designed to develop solid tumor field medical strategy, align the MSL team with the medical strategy and ensure the tactical execution of the Strategic Engagement Plan. This role is responsible for overseeing the performance of individual MSLs and the team, while also managing complex relationships with various cooperative groups and the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The role is divided equally between building, developing and managing the Solid Tumors MSL team and engaging with key external stakeholders to drive scientific collaborations and strategic partnerships.
This position will be part of the US Oncology Medical Team. Main Responsibilities
Team Coaching, Development, and Career Pathway Planning
Coaching and Development: Regularly coach MSLs around four core accountability areas: Scientific Engagement, Insights Generation, Support Data Generation, and Internal Collaboration.
Training Plans: Guide individual and team development through customized training plans, prioritizing clinical, technical, and leadership skills.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor MSLs' progress against medical and business priorities, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Compliance: Ensure all MSLs fulfill global and corporate training requirements and adhere to compliance and governance processes.
Talent Management: Develop and implement talent engagement and retention strategies, including clear career pathways and development plans.
Medical Strategy, Tactical Execution, and Performance Measurement
Strategic Alignment: Participate in developing US Medical Plans and align MSL initiatives with medical strategic priorities.
Operational Efficiency: Monitor operational efficiency to ensure a balance of internal and external activities and implement multi-channel engagement strategies.
Data Generation: Support data generation activities related to company-sponsored and investigator-sponsored studies.
Scientific and Medical Insights Communication
Insights Generation: Lead internal collaboration centered around insights generation, ensuring data, facts, and observations are gathered, reviewed, and analyzed.
Communication: Report and facilitate communication on key scientific, medical, and clinical insights to internal stakeholders.
Competitive Intelligence: Ensure MSLs share competitive intelligence compliantly with relevant internal stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement and Scientific Collaborations
Strategic Partnerships: Develop and execute strategic scientific engagement plans with external experts, academic institutions, professional societies, and other relevant organizations, including cooperative groups and their foundations.
Relationship Management: Manage complex relationships with cooperative groups and the NCI, focusing on solid tumor committees.
External Communications: Guide internal teams on external communications and interactions with strategic partners, facilitating contact as needed.
About You
Job Requirements
Education:
Medical, pharmacy or post graduate level science degree (required)
Experience:
5-10 years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience, preferably in Medical Affairs or product development.
Prior customer facing experience.
Experience managing high-performing teams (especially MSLs).
Experience in managing collaborations with NCI and cooperative groups is preferred.
Prior experience in solid tumors, radio-medicine, and/or neuroendocrine tumors preferred.
Skills:
Strong customer orientation and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Effective communication and presentation skills.
Strong business acumen and ability to manage complex environments.
Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
Strong attention to detail and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of local regulations and codes of practice for the pharmaceutical industry.

The salary range for this position is $202,500.00 - $270,000.00 USD Annually. All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience.
