Position Overview

We are seeking a Technical Solutions Executive (Tech SE) with manufacturing experience to partner with Named Accounts Sales Executive to generate new growth. You will focus on translating customer business issues into technical solutions through the application of experience, in-depth knowledge, practical skills, innovative thinking, and vision of assigned industry(s). Engagements will require important skills such as account strategy development, industry experience, sales process knowledge, understanding of Autodesk tools and how customers will receive value. This is a client-facing remote role (home office) based within the United States, aligned to your account assignments.

Responsibilities

Account Plan Development and Management

  • In partnership with Named Accounts Sales Executives, validate the customer success plan and execute strategy and tactics for closing business and driving expansion

  • Coordinate with global account resources (such as the Customer Success Manager) on account strategy and customer initiatives

  • Use Autodesk company standard sales methodologies to ensure technical closure and alignment with sales strategies

  • Evaluate customer’s strategies and deliver knowledge on how Autodesk offerings can align to customer goals and outcomes

  • Be the primary technology expert in the account teams, bringing leadership to customer planning, the customer engagement process, and sales content curation

  • Manage technical discovery sessions (workshops) that focus on business challenges and customer outcomes

  • Guide the technical discovery process to uncover business issues and determine how Autodesk can provide solutions

Customer Relationship Management

  • Develop the required level of knowledge of customers' business processes, workflows, and technical requirements to build 'trusted advisor' relationships

  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of business processes, technology trends, and workflows within domain expertise to provide insight and guidance required to position the value of current and new Autodesk solutions

  • Demonstrate thought leadership to the customer to differentiate Autodesk and establish it as a long-term solution provider

  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to provide the right knowledge to customers during sales engagements

  • Collaborate with Channel Partners and Customer Success teams to ensure customer satisfaction and adoption

  • Stay up to date with industry and global trends, and develop new ideas to achieve revenue growth

  • Influence product development and product direction through customer feedback and identified business opportunities

  • Align with key customer stakeholders to secure business and technical closure of the proposed solution

Collaboration

  • Develop and maintain trusted working relationships with the sales team and adjacent business partners

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (sales management, customer success, consulting, development, technical sales) to acquire the correct talent/resource for individual sales opportunities

  • Oversee and guide these resources to outlined account objectives to ensure customer satisfaction and business closure

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction

  • At least 5-7 years of practical experience in the design and construction industry, including one or more of the following areas:

    • BIM and Digital Engineering

    • Digital technologies that support project delivery

    • Data & Information management solutions

    • Knowledge of technology solutions, standards, workflows, data formats, and interoperability requirements and processes

  • Technical knowledge using Autodesk solutions or similar industry software

  • Strong analytical skills to solve complex problems within the project lifecycle

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including comfort presenting to large audiences

  • Strong teamwork/relationship management skills

  • Sales methodology or technical sales experience is a plus

  • Ability to travel up to 50% to customers and Autodesk-sponsored events

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in adjacent industries, such as manufacturing and industrialized construction

  • Technical knowledge using Autodesk solutions in Design & Manufacturing, such as Vault and Inventor

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based sales roles, we expect a starting On-Target Earnings (OTE) between $152,400 and $220,550. OTE is comprised of base salary plus commission target for sales roles. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries and/or OTE for sales roles, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
