The Global Presales organization at Okta brings together a diverse group of experts, including Solutions Engineers, the Office of the Field CTO, Alliances, Architects and more, who combine deep technical expertise with strategic business insight. Presales “Principal Security Advisor, Global FCTO” Opportunity

We are seeking a visionary and experienced Identity and Access Management technologist to be part of the Global Field CTO team specializing in Okta’s Identity Security products: 

1) Access Management, Customer Identity AND/OR

2) Identity Management, Governance, Privileged Identity and Posture Management

 

Together with the other members of the Global Field CTO team, this role will help drive the technical agenda for their respective suite of product specialization, collaborating with Product to help set the direction and strategic priorities for the roadmap and partnering with Sales teams to engage in strategic opportunities to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Principal Security Advisors are expected to be masters in their security domains and exhibit technical expertise, aware of leading market and competitive trends relevant to their domains. 



What you’ll be doing 

 

  1. Strategic Customer Engagement:
    • Serve as a trusted advisor and executive sponsor for key global customers.
    • Deliver thought leadership on emerging trends, industry best practices, and identity-driven digital transformation.
    • Facilitate executive-level discussions to align Okta’s solutions with customer business outcomes.
  2. Technical Leadership:
    • Provide strategic and technical guidance to global Solutions Engineering teams in Identity and Access Management and Okta Customer Identity domains.
    • Collaborate with Okta Product & Engineering teams to ensure alignment between customer needs and Okta’s Product roadmap.
    • Deliver impactful keynote presentations, webinars, and technical sessions at industry events.
  3. Field Enablement and Collaboration:
    • Develop frameworks, tools, and content to enable Solutions Engineering teams to execute effectively.
    • Partner with sales leadership to identify and address critical business opportunities and challenges.
    • Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless execution of global initiatives.
    • Work closely with Product, PAT, and Enablement to drive new product strategies, develop the messaging, and scale that to the Field teams.
  4. Market Influence:
    • Represent Okta as a technical and business thought leader in the identity and security space.
    • Engage with analysts, press, and other external stakeholders to elevate Okta’s market presence.
    • Influence industry standards and participate in relevant technical advisory boards.

 

  1. Innovation and Strategy:
    • Partner closely with Okta Access Management Product & Engineering as the global advocate for customer-driven innovation, market trends and GTM insights to influence Product roadmap investment and velocity
    • Partner with corporate strategy and marketing to align Okta’s messaging and positioning with market demands.
    • Lead strategic initiatives that enhance Okta’s competitive differentiation and long-term growth.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Deep expertise in identity, security, cloud computing, and digital transformation.
  • Experience in developing C-level executive messaging around business outcomes applicable they would care about and influencing strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience delivering keynotes at global events.
  • Strong understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, and enterprise customer needs.
  • Ability to effectively operate in a matrixed organization and manage cross-functional initiatives.
  • Passion for innovation, customer success, and advancing the field of identity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in IAM/IGA/PAM roles, including Solutions Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, or related fields
  • Proven record and thought leader in Access Management domain.
  • Advanced degree in a technical or business-related field.
  • Experience working with or within Fortune 500 enterprises.
  • Deep expertise of Okta’s platform and ecosystem.

Below is the annual On Target Compensation (OTE) range for candidates located in California. Your actual OTE, which is inclusive of base salary and incentive compensation, will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable) and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The OTE range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:$255,000—$383,000 USD
