Manager, Account Management

Lead the team in planning, developing, prioritizing, and monitoring strategic client initiatives, as well as day-to-day business operations. In partnership with the Director, support divisional plans and strategic initiatives tied to growth and retention of VSP’s clients.

Maintain in-depth working knowledge of existing and new products/services/processes/procedures and other information to ensure accurate and current information is provided to staff; educate and train staff to support Sales Plans; coordinate and implement all training programs that meet VSP Global’s service requirements, goals & strategies

Identify operational and strategic risks to client development and retention; develop and execute plans and strategies to mitigate identified risks

Implement strategies and plans for the team to build, strengthen and leverage client relationships with a focus on growth, retention, and operational excellence

Work closely with cross-divisional teams to vet new and existing client requirements/opportunities for successful implementation, long term profitability and to ensure service levels and expectations are met with appropriate and effective solutions

Adopt sales automation system for all prospecting and client relationship activities; monitor and maintain integrity of data in applicable VSP systems

Assure effective communications are maintained within the team, with regional offices and externally 

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

Minimum of 3 years of management experience with responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work, and managing performance of direct reports

Proficient in strategic and tactical approaches to support business needs; to plan and accomplish goals and to successfully manage risks and escalations

Extensive experience and evidenced ability to navigate complex situations through organizational landscape with multiple stakeholders and senior management, while maintaining balanced consideration of all business needs

Proven financial management in development and administration of budgets across multiple areas

Demonstrated ability to be a decision-maker showing balanced consideration of business issues

Advanced communication, analytical, and problem solving competencies

Exceptional organizational and customer service skills

Established presentation and negotiation abilities

Demonstrated project management experience

Demonstrated facilitation skills

Preferred Skills

Experience in creating account planning and productivity models for account management teams; Proven track record increasing customer service levels and satisfaction by effectively managing Account Manager performance and exceeding customer expectations.

Experience developing and training team in best practice service processes, with emphasis on client/broker satisfaction. Understanding the correlation between strong servicing and positive impact to new and renewing sales. Note: the team will consist of Account Managers which are service only and not sales roles.

Experience developing and executing on strategies that produce significant increases in customer satisfaction.

Self-starter who has developed, implemented and/or enhanced service delivery model to heighten customer satisfaction.  Ability to develop a high performing and accountable account management team that will provide world class service to CMM’s key broker/agencies and their client book of business. Ability to effectively collaborate with CMM leadership to understand strategic business objectives and ensure successful sales/service goal implementation.

Strong working knowledge of Salesforce, preferably with skills and experience to implement and develop requirements to effectively manage Account Management team performance.

Compensation range for the role is listed below. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Salary Ranges: $73,500.00 - $131,250.00
