Overview

As a member of the leadership team, this position is responsible for managing and growing the colocation business at TierPoint. Requiring cross-functional expertise and a deep understanding of the data center industry, the VP of Colocation Services will drive the strategy and new revenue-generating activities.

The ideal candidate is a strategic business leader with a team-based, cross-functional perspective coupled with a relentless passion for results and achievement. The individual must be able to grow recurring B2B business based on their insights into colocation services, the data center industry, target verticals, and strategic partnerships. The VP of Colocation Services understands the competitive environment and has the ability to craft successful sales growth strategies in close alignment with the Sales, Solution Engineering, Product, Operations, and Marketing functions.

Culturally, this individual must build positive and strong relationships internally with cross-functional peers. Teamwork with the Product, Commercial, and Operations organization will be critical as they work together to refine solutions that can be successfully sold, delivered, and supported throughout the customer’s life cycle.Ā 

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality internal and external customer service surrounding the Company values.
  • Act as subject matter expert supporting colocation sales activities with strategic, high-density, and complex solution development
  • Provide support for colocation customer contract negotiations.
  • Establish short term and long-term strategy to achieve significant growth of colocation sales activity
  • Ensure sales organization has the skills and knowledge to communicate colocation service attributes and TierPoint’s value proposition to new and existing customers
  • Continually refine pre-sales processes to ensure efficient solution development, quoting, pricing, and contracting
  • Provide market expertise with regards to use cases, technology drivers like GPU’s and AI, competitive intel, pricing, and value propositions
  • Evaluate and recommend refinements to product models to maintain market competitivenessĀ 
  • Build awareness for TierPoint at industry conferences and other outside events through speaking engagements, panel participation, and meetings
  • Identify and sponsor business cases to expand data center footprint while partnering with corporate development, operations, and sales
  • Manage and encourage diversity in skills and capabilities
  • Ensure all TierPoint corporate policies are respected
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical field.
