About the AMD - HP VAR Technical Sales Specialist: 

MarketStar is looking for a VAR Technical Sales Specialist to support our new AMD-HP Alliance team and VAR partnerships.  The VAR Technical Sales Specialist will be responsible for providing technical solutions, maintaining relationships with partner(s), managing pipeline and increasing sales for our client.  

Location: TX - Remote

What Will You Do? 

  • Provide support to AMD-related pre-sales questions for account managers and customers. 

  • Conduct regular onsite visits to designated accounts on the target list. 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, fostering trust and collaboration. 

  • Develop joint business plans with partners to outline objectives and strategies. 

  • Provide tools, resources, and training to partners to help them sell AMD products or services effectively. 

  • Track, monitor, and analyze partner performance against agreed-upon metrics. 

  • Own and manage a pipeline of opportunities, identifying AMD revenue and strategic markets/customers. 

  • Submit weekly/monthly reports to AMD on business status, analyze performance data, and deliver trend analysis to recognize strengths and growth opportunities. 

  • Provide technical assistance to sales personnel and end customers in the evaluation, design, and development of AMD and HP-based Client solutions. 

  • Provide hands-on, technical assistance to end customer development and software teams. 

  • Win new commercial opportunities by establishing technical solutions based on AMD and HP technology. 

 

What Will You Need to Succeed? 

  • Strong understanding and experience in a reseller environment with VAR channel sales. 

  • College degree in business or a related field preferred. 

  • Solid experience, selling and educating others on a product or solution. 

  • Sales experience with the ability to manage a pipeline. 

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written. 

  • Coachability with a willingness to learn quickly. 

  • Well organized and detail oriented with good time management skills. 

  • A basic understanding of client software environments, including operating systems (Windows, Linux), drivers, benchmarks, and targeted applications. 

  • Knowledge in CPU system architecture, benchmarks, and GPU computing. 

  • Experience working with large enterprise customers. 

  • Ability to travel up to 40%.

The salary range for this position is between $82,000.00 and $87,000.00 annually. This pay structure may also include a variable bonus component of $10,000.00 annually. There are several factors to consider including but not limited to, the role’s responsibilities, experience, location, education/training, internal equity, and key skills.
