The Opportunity
This position is a remote opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. As a Senior National Account Manager, you will be managing the entire line of ADC Products to assigned national payers, GPOs and Pharmacy Benefit Managers (previous experience with Emisar/OptumRx/UHC preferred). The process includes developing and maintaining new pharmacy and medical business in defined national accounts with specific account plans and tactics for ADC. Improving access and criteria for Abbott Diabetes products with payers both in medical benefit and pharmacy coverage and partnering with internal stakeholders to drive growth for ADC products (i.e Field Sales, Contracting and Pricing, Trade, Marketing etc. This is a senior level market access position.
This is a field based remote opportunity.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Gaining and retaining product formulary access for ADC’s current product portfolio
- Increasing profitability by growing market share, new pharmacy lives and improving access (medical and pharmacy) through strategic planning, leadership, execution and collaboration/coordination with marketing and sales
- Assess business impact of contracting opportunities to include overall profitability and impact on margins as well as mitigate risk
- Working to ensure optimal contract value and efficient implementations/training/pull through
- Participating in the strategic RFP negotiations and financial planning
- Pharmacy benefit contracting to MCOs and PBMs
- Overseeing execution of pull through support with downstream regional plans, top employers and field sales; knowledgeable of the core marketing responsibilities and key business processes
- Managing those responsible for analysis, planning, and implementation of tactical plans.
- Complete understanding of all applicable compliance guidelines and ensures adherence to them
- Establish Goals for each assigned account and monitor progress toward the Goals; establish priority of objectives
- Partner and collaborate with Marketing team on strategy development and tactical execution
Education and Experience You'll Bring
Required
- Four year bachelors degree required and masters degree a plus.
- Minimum of 3-7 years of proven success in market access (contracting, negotiating and pulling through opportunities for market share growth).
- Experience negotiating and contracting with national payers and PBMs.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience negotiating commercial, managed Medicaid and Medicare access.
- Also critical for success: Analytical ability, negotiation skills, and contract/legal experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (including presentation and listening skills)
- High energy level; positive attitude and confidence, Integrity and professionalism initiative and strong self motivation, work ethic and overall career ambition.
- Organizational skills: Strong problem solving skills, resourcefulness, leadership and team orientation; ability to work with peers from other divisions, and ancillary support groups such as Marketing, Contracts/pricing, Field sales, trade, and Medical outcomes managers/HEOR
