The Senior Business Development Manager, will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of innovative strategies to address market trends and opportunities specifically tailored for small and medium businesses (SMBs). The primary focus will be on creating playbooks and providing guidance to navigate the complexities of the SMB landscape effectively. This person will work closely with cross-channel teams to design and deliver customized solutions that meet the unique needs of SMBs.

Responsibilities Include:

Develop New Business Opportunities for SMB accounts

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of the SMB markets to identify potential ISV and SaaS partners to expand the solutions portfolios for SMBs.
  • Proactively reach out to potential ISVs through cold-calling, emailing, and other methods to generate interest and build relationships.
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition of our products/services to potential partners and respond to any objections or questions in a professional manner.
  • Collaborate with other members of the sales team to develop and implement account plans for key customers.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities in our CRM system.
  • Attend industry events and conferences to network with potential customers and stay informed of industry developments.

Create mPOS solutions for SMB accounts

  • Meet (or exceed) monthly and quarterly SMB sales targets
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of the SMB markets to identify potential mPOS ISV and SaaS partners to expand the solutions portfolios for SMBs.
  • Proactively reach out to potential mPOS ISVs through cold-calling, emailing, and other methods to generate interest and build relationships.
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition of our products/services to potential partners and respond to any objections or questions in a professional manner.
  • Collaborate with other members of the sales team to develop and implement account plans for key customers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities in our CRM system.
  • Attend industry events and conferences to network with potential customers and stay informed of industry developments.

Develop SMB Playbooks

  • Produce comprehensive SMB playbooks (by route to market) and provide guidance for addressing market trends and opportunities within the SMB segment.
  • Establish product offering position through market analysis and competitive research.

Product Portfolio Enhancements

Work with key Product Marketing stakeholders to drive consensus regarding the addition of key product categories to the portal, to provide a more comprehensive solution for potential SMB customers 

Skills and Qualifications

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Tableau analytics to track and measure campaign performance, and make data-driven decisions to optimize campaigns
  • Generate marketing collateral, including presentations, brochures, and product sheets, to effectively communicate key messages and value propositions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, product, and design, to ensure marketing initiatives align with business objectives
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and innovations to bring new and creative ideas to the team
  • Prepare weekly site analysis for Executive reviews
  • Serve as a liaison and primary point of contact within the digital and e-commerce organization for cross-functional partners, acting as a project manager to evaluate, prioritize, develop, manage, implement, and test initiatives.
  • Participate in the development and execution of strategic and tactical business plans with other members of the cross-functional teams supporting SMB strategy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Required, MBA Preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years’ sales & business development experience, preferably working with SMB and e-Com companies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Previous experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Office
  • Preferred experience creating programs with B2B affiliate partners or e-procurement platforms.
  • Able to think strategically, including prioritizing work and effort based on impact on the business
  • Advocate for ideas you believe in, backing them up with results and data
  • Proactive problem-solver, finding ways to work around speed bumps, keep projects on target, and turn challenges into opportunities
  • Verbal and written communication skills, negotiation skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all assigned levels within and outside the company.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments and projects.
  • Review detailed product development, marketing documents, and media materials as needed.
  • Demonstrated competency in both oral and written communication modes for both internal and external personnel at various levels.
  • Work independently and in a team environment in order to achieve customer business objectives, personal and team goals, and complete assignments within established time frames and specifications. 
  • The ability to develop tasks and work assignments based on sometimes vaguely defined objectives.

FULLY REMOTE – CAN BE PERFORMED ANYWHERE

The salary range for this role will vary among specific regions due to geographic differentials in the labor market, and actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.  However, the salary ranges in the following regions are expected to be as follows:

  • Colorado: $170,000 to $190,000
  • NYC: $195,000 to $215,000
  • Washington State: $190,000 to $210,000
  • California: $195,000 to $215,000
