A Unique Opportunity to Elevate Your Career
New York Life Investments is offering a distinctive opportunity for an experienced sales professional to step beyond the traditional home-office internal role and work directly in the field alongside an External Wholesaler. This position combines in-person meetings with financial advisors and traditional internal wholesaling responsibilities, providing an opportunity to develop deeper client relationships, hands-on market experience, and career advancement.

About the Role

As an In-Market Internal Wholesaler, you will be a key supporting partner to your External Wholesaler, working collaboratively to drive sales, strengthen advisor relationships, and support the overall growth of the territory. You will play a crucial role in driving sales and deepening relationships with financial advisors by being a trusted, consultative partner. Your success hinges on adding value beyond product discussions, positioning yourself as a strategic resource for advisors seeking market insights, portfolio solutions, and business growth strategies.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and manage relationships with financial advisors through in-person meetings, phone outreach, and virtual interactions.
  • Execute and support your External Wholesaler in creating and implementing strategic sales plans for the territory.
  • Educate and advise financial advisors on investment solutions, including mutual funds, ETFs, and SMAs, while providing asset allocation insights.
  • Be a student of the markets by staying ahead of economic trends, product innovations, and industry shifts to provide relevant insights that elevate advisor conversations.
  • Engage in a consultative sales approach by asking the right questions, uncovering advisor needs, and delivering tailored solutions that drive meaningful engagement.
  • Deliver value-add solutions by equipping advisors with actionable ideas, industry best practices, and tools that help them grow their business and better serve their clients.
  • Expand and deepen territory growth by identifying new business opportunities and strengthening existing client relationships.
  • Position yourself as a go-to resource by consistently delivering insights, sharing thought leadership, and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Maintain and optimize CRM data and sales tracking systems to ensure efficiency and proactive engagement.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the planning of conferences, seminars, and advisor meetings to maximize market engagement.
  • Uphold a structured, distraction-free work environment at home, ensuring high productivity.

What You’ll Bring

  • Passion for financial markets, investments, and continuous learning.
  • A natural curiosity and ability to ask great questions to uncover advisor needs.
  • Strong communication and consultative sales skills, with a focus on helping rather than just selling.
  • A drive to become indispensable to advisors through knowledge, service, and strategic insights.
  • The ability to execute on sales strategies, track performance metrics, and adapt to market opportunities to drive meaningful results.
  • FINRA Series 7 & 63 required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in asset management sales or as a Financial Advisor; Colorado experience preferred but not required.
  • Residency required in Colorado and travel as required.
  • Proven sales success with a track record of exceeding goals and building strong advisor relationships.
  • Ability to reside in the assigned territory and travel as required.
  • Uphold a structured, distraction-free work environment at home, ensuring high productivity.
  • Strong investment knowledge and familiarity with mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, and capital markets.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated and organized with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively supporting an External Wholesaler.
  • Ability to travel to the home office in NYC 1x a quarter.

Why Join Us?

  • A rare opportunity to gain in-market experience as an Internal Wholesaler, positioning yourself for career advancement.
  • Direct advisor engagement that allows for deeper relationship-building and enhanced sales effectiveness.
  • Industry-leading resources, training, and support to ensure long-term success.
  • Competitive compensation package with performance-based incentives.
