This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Account Manager (Open to Remote) will focus on a few of the company's large or very complex customers within a designated geographic territory or market. In this role, you will handle critical or complex products that require excellent client relationship skills to maintain competitive positioning. This role will be in charge of retail customers in the Western US territory for our deli meats business.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop a plan to establish and maintain account relationships and meet personal sales targets.
  • Build a business plan for each account.
  • Coordinate use of resource to provide value added services to accounts.
  • Develop strong client relationships that provide significant input to planning product, price and service strategies.
  • Support supervisor and other sales professionals in developing new market opportunities in the designated territory or market.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of four years of related work experience 

  • Able and willing to travel up to 50%.

 
 
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with sales in food, retail customer base or deli meats.

  • Strong business and commercial acumen.

  • Proven influencing skills at all levels of a large and complex organization including the ability to build trust and strong relationships internally and externally.

  • Working experience with customer facing interaction. Ability to quickly build process and insight expertise, strong communication, facilitation, presentation.

Applicant Information

The expected salary for this position is $100,000 – 130,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
