About the Role
As the first MSSP Sales Engineer, you will build and define the technical function of Abnormal’s MSSP program, ensuring partners have the knowledge, tools, and resources to drive revenue through Abnormal Security. You will work closely with Channel Sales, Partner Success, and Product teams to develop and execute a technical strategy for MSSP engagement, including technical enablement, solution architecture, and partner integrations.
This is a foundational technical role—not only will you provide hands-on pre-sales support, but you will also develop the technical enablement framework that ensures long-term success with MSSPs. You will be responsible for partner technical onboarding, pre-sales guidance, integration best practices, and ongoing technical enablement, helping MSSPs integrate Abnormal Security seamlessly into their service offerings.
What You’ll Do
- Build and define the MSSP technical function, establishing best practices for partner technical enablement, integration, and sales alignment.
- Serve as the primary technical counterpart to the MSSP Account Team, ensuring MSSPs are fully equipped to position, sell, and deliver Abnormal Security as part of their managed security services.
- Develop a scalable MSSP technical enablement program, including structured training, certifications, workshops, and hands-on labs to accelerate partner success.
- Design and execute technical integration strategies, helping MSSPs align Abnormal Security with their SIEM, SOAR, SOC operations, and security automation platforms.
- Lead technical pre-sales engagements, supporting MSSP-led customer demos, Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs), and security architecture discussions to drive partner-led revenue.
- Define MSSP-specific technical sales plays, ensuring partners can effectively differentiate and position Abnormal Security in their managed services portfolio.
- Create and maintain technical enablement materials, including solution guides, integration frameworks, and sales playbooks, ensuring MSSPs have the resources they need.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to MSSPs, providing expert guidance on security architecture, operational best practices, and product alignment with MSSP services.
- Establish technical success metrics, tracking MSSP engagement, enablement effectiveness, and technical adoption trends to optimize program impact.
- Represent Abnormal Security at MSSP industry events, technical summits, and cybersecurity forums, strengthening our position within the MSSP ecosystem.
Must Haves

- Willingness to travel for MSSP partner enablement, joint sales activities, and industry events.
