The Relationship Manager (RM) acts as the strategic point of contact on assigned mid-market Government plans between $50 - 150M, ensuring exceptional client service and plan sponsor satisfaction to improve client satisfaction and profitability. This is achieved through internal collaboration with service teams and external partnerships with plan sponsors, advisors, TPAs, and consultants.
This RM will work with clients in the Pacific Northwest and must be based in this territory.
What you will do
Maintain client relationships, enhance overall client satisfaction, actively reduce risk of client loss and improve the financial viability of client relationships
Drive strategy, service delivery, evaluate, improve and manage client satisfaction, risk/retention efforts, book of business economics, and plan management to improve plan and participant outcomes
Collaborate with plan sponsors and internal partners to transform each plan by successfully identifying, socializing, managing, and delivering better, modernized processes and solutions for each client and their participants
Conduct client meetings, work with internal SMEs and the entire service team to bring Empower’s best thinking to clients in the areas of plan design, funding, administration, participant communications, compliance, fiduciary governance and industry trends
Identify and effectively report key performance indicators, recommend solutions and identify opportunities to leverage talent and connections to retain and enhance the relationship
Participate in new business finals presentations and client site visits to build rapport with clients and manage client expectations beginning with the sales process and continuing throughout the relationship
Travel to client / prospective client meetings, internal team/SME/leadership relationship development or training
Ascertain both the obvious and not so obvious signs of satisfaction / dissatisfaction and effectively work to positively influence client perspective
Quickly respond to, and proactively engage, clients and other stakeholders to ensure connectivity and high levels of communication
Problem-solve for root cause using innovative and creative solutions
What you will bring
Bachelor’s degree required
5+ years of industry or RM experience
2+ years experience working with leaders and key clients
Prior experience with retirement plan administration
Ability to build rapport with clients and proactively manage client expectations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills
FINRA 6 & 63 registrations required within established timelines
FINRA fingerprint required upon hire

Experience working with Government/public sector clients
Demonstrated experience in identifying solutions and resolution to issues and plan design matters
Understanding and being conversant on revenue and expense variables associated with client relationships
Understanding of investment management products and services
Experience building partnerships internally and externally with plan sponsors, consultants, key stakeholders, committee/board members, and business leaders
Ability to diplomatically persuade and influence others and navigate potential objections on complex issues/ideas/theories
Effective time management
Strong project management skills

Travel frequently via airlines and vehicle travel drive automobiles for long periods of time, carry a briefcase and lift luggage as needed

Base Salary Range
$111,800.00 - $162,125.00The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
