About the job:
The Red Hat OpenShift Product Management team is looking for a Product Manager to join us in our Boston, MA or Raleigh, NC office (hybrid schedule - 3+ days/week in office) and work on our operator ecosystem. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build open-source based enterprise products.
What You’ll Do:
Develop strategy and roadmap for our lifecycle management tooling and the Red Hat and ISV operator ecosystem
Establish convergence of different content catalogs (operators, helm, etc) in OpenShift
Create alignment and consistency in the content lifecycle and consumption experience across our own and certified third-party catalog offerings
Collect and document input from Red Hat OpenShift customers, partners and other stakeholders to understand customer needs
Research competitive solutions, both commercial and do-it-yourself alternatives, documenting their relative strengths and weaknesses to develop competitive positioning and collect input for new releases
Prioritize and document requirements, epics and user stories for new releases of our offerings
Guide major enhancements of our offerings by working cross-functionally with our OpenShift core Engineering team, the upstream open source community and our partners
Work with the Operator Framework Engineering team and the overall Product team to manage releases and updates of our offerings and bring new artifact management solutions to market
Work with our Sales teams to respond to customer inquiries; deliver customer presentations and demos and support the overall sales process
Support sales and marketing activities, including creating presentations, blogs, demos and other technical collateral for our offerings
Review and provide feedback on the documentation for our offerings
What You’ll Bring:
Enterprise software industry experience working in either product management, technical (pre)sales, technical marketing, software engineering, or a similar technical role
Linux skills and direct experience with Linux container technologies and Kubernetes
Working knowledge of distributed systems, resource management solutions, storage technologies, software-defined networking (SDN), enterprise logging and monitoring solutions
Familiarity with the CNCF ecosystem of open source solutions
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud or application management solutions
Bachelor's or graduate degree, preferably in computer science, engineering or a related discipline; or equivalent experience
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Willingness to travel up to 25%
The following are considered a plus:
Experience in creating marketplace offerings or content hubs
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms
Prior experience with the agile development process
Familiarity with Jira or similar tool
Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
