What you will be doing:

The Pharmacy Account Support Manager is responsible for the contracting, project/program management, compliance, vendor management, customer data analytics, and spend reduction for all Pharmacy spend. The position requires strong analytic and reporting skills to appropriately monitor financial programs. The manager establishes and maintains strong member relationships that enable rapid dissemination of important information regarding our contract portfolios, educational services, consultative offerings, technology products, and other pharmacy-centric solutions. Additionally, the ability to develop analyses based on contract market share requirements, comparisons, and benchmarks. This is a front facing position that requires significant interaction with pharmacy supply chain and acute pharmacy leaders in both a one on one and at committee levels.

They also work closely with/manages internal team members, stakeholders, and participating facilities’ staff, to ensure the projects are conducted in a timely manner to achieve goals within defined budgets.

· Experienced Supply Chain candidate to be responsible for the contracting of various pharmaceuticals and services. Possess knowledge in pharmacy purchasing/supply chain functions within a health-system inclusive of Inpatient, Outpatient, Specialty, Retail; and 340B Pharmacy Operations.

· Experience in performing cost benefit analysis and benchmarking.

· Excellent communication, presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

· Drives cross functional customer support incorporating internal and external solutions to assist members in driving contract penetration, member value and savings,

· Manage responses for purchase decision support, including line-item price validation, comparative quote analyses, and face-to-face and telephone consultation, etc.,

· Create and facilitate member and staff education on product usage and cost efficiencies with various other internal and external subject matter experts,

· Monitor and track the sales cycle (from initial lead to close of sale) of Premier suppliers, provide timely analyses, reviews contract pricing accuracy, keep data updated, and notify facility pharmacy departments

· Provide technical oversight to contracting staff in the development of contract launch and promotional materials, surveys, second sourcing events, product planning initiatives, and category specific committee meetings/presentations,

· Display technical competency working from various data sources, take a request for information and identify the best sources to retrieve the information.

· Demonstrate a high degree of independence and ownership of projects and summarize data in visually appealing presentations to influence decision making.

· Facilitate member education using available resources and materials.

· Assist with new member implementation, rostering issues, and orientation.

· Strong organizational and time management skills, capability to multi-task.

· Must have good people/Supplier relationship skills both internally and externally.

· Acts as a liaison between Sourcing, Legal teams, and other multidisciplinary teams.

· Analyze new or amended contracting opportunities; identify new contracting opportunities

· Support GPO operational functions (i.e., internal/external reporting, monitor key performance indicators, etc.)

· Identify, report and monitor category savings

· Work with the facilities to resolve distributors, suppliers’ issues.

· Work with A/P to resolve pending invoice issues.

· Maintain and coordinate with End Users and Suppliers action items/ deliverable commitments

· Experience in the fact-finding process, price cost analysis and detailed contract justification

· GPO contract performance and trends. GPO value-add and Key Performance Indicator metric evaluation

· Perform and support data-driven analyses that define, measure, and investigate current operational trends, financial trends, and strategic insights related to GPO

· Perform ad-hoc, data driven analyses.

· Strong comfort and skills for fast paced environment and ability to manage multiple daily tasks and workflows,

· Display effective self-driven time management skills,

· Partner skills and collaboration to achieve deadlines and track to goals.

Key Responsibilities

Analytical– 35%

  • Able to gather, interpret, and use complex data to develop actionable steps that will improve processes and optimize results. · Work collaboratively, identify the true objective, choose the appropriate analytical methodology, and deliver accurate/timely summaries to inform decision-making on initiatives

  • Specific focus on contract review, compliance, ensure accuracy of price loads at all sites

  • Work with the member to ensure optimization of current Premier tools (i.e. pincAI tools)

  • Assist with strategic initiatives as it relates to reporting and data analysis

Relationship Management – 35%

  • Create and maintain effective communication with all assigned members and health-systems.

  • Provide periodic updates to the member regarding their use of Premier services and opportunities to further that penetration.

  • Participate in additional activities that nurture strong member relationships by answering questions and learning about each assigned member to suggest the portfolio of contracts and services that will establish relevance for Premier in their respective pharmacy program.

  • Stay abreast of pharmacy sourcing initiatives to identify contract opportunities and ensure member uptake and optimization.

  • Liaison with Premier resources like ProRx, ProvideGx and FFF Enterprise distribution to optimize commitment programs

  • Ultimately, the opportunity to unearth additional services and offerings that expand the member’s involvement with Premier.

  • Verify/recommend updates for Premier roster, ensure new sites are aligned with current contracts and rostered appropriately.

  • Research/verify pricing questions/discrepancies for sites when related to Premier contracts.

  • Interface with supply chain team for their pharmaceutical needs

Knowledge Transfer – 15%

  • Work closely with the membership field services staff assigned to the same members.

  • Provide technical support in answering specific pharmacy questions and follow-up with appropriate materials to ensure the member finds value in their Premier ownership.

  • Expedite the uptake of relevant information and problem resolution.

Meeting/Committee Liaison – 15%

  • May have involvement with negotiation of pharmaceutical purchase agreements. May participate in discussions with suppliers regarding the sale and delivery of pharmaceutical spend data.

  • Representing Premier at member meetings and industry events

Work Experience:

Years of Applicable Experience - 4 or more years

Education:

High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Working Conditions: Remote


 

Travel Requirements: Travel 1-20% within the US

Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $80,000 - $148,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
