Your Impact 

As Axon’s Global Operational Director, you will serve a critical role at the intersection of commercial controllership, manufacturing operations and systems, revenue and operational accounting, product development and sales operations. You will join a highly collaborative team partnering cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Inventory Operations and Management, Information Technology, Product Management, Professional Services and Sales organizations to support, design, implement, integrate, configure and maintain the systems necessary to enable timely and accurate revenue and cost of goods sold recording, reporting and forecasting. What You'll Do 

Location: Remotely from USA with 20-30% travel
Report to: VP, Commercial Controllership

  • Serve as a central liaison between operations, FP&A, Accounting and other teams, serving as a central point of contact and subject matter expert for questions related to revenue and COGS recognition, system configuration and support inquiries 
  • Support upstream operations, including working with operations teams supporting inventory and work order management, both virtually and in person (based on specific times and needs) 
  • Serve as subject matter expert related to revenue recognition policy, inventory and related standard cost accounting, inventory and warranty reserves 
  • Own key functions to support the business, including work order management and inventory tracking, shipment processing, especially during critical accounting milestones such as quarter-end and year-end 
  • Own and perform validation procedures related to upstream processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all monthly tasks in accordance with finance and accounting policies, while maintaining routine reporting to Finance and Accounting leadership 
  • Responsible for the long-term scale and build of areas within your scope of responsibility, including complex and custom deliverables to customers. This includes developing policies and best practices related to these verticals, reviewing historical records for alignment to policy, and building scalable systems and processes for policy compliance and operations support. 
  • Monitor monthly activities to ensure all new orders, as well as any amendments, are properly documented and dispositioned in accordance with system configuration and policies 
  • As needed, you will be able to travel for on-site inventories and support, including at critical accounting milestones such as quarter-end and year-end. International travel may be required. 
  • Consistently challenge the status quo to identify process and system improvements in the end to end cycle, working upstream as needed for optimum coverage, efficiency and effectiveness 
  • Co-design and co-lead ERP integration and support automation transformation.   
  • Co-lead product introduction/item master creation and maintenance process as needed to ensure all products and services that are generally available are configured correctly for proper revenue recognition 
  • Support monthly Close and reconciliations to systems and financial statements  
  • Drive a robust internal controls environment and support internal and external audit activities, including SOX Compliance 
  • Support ad hoc projects related to our high growth  

What You Bring 

  • Bachelor or higher degree in Finance or Accounting related field 
  • Six Sigma or similar qualifications highly desired 
  • Previous audit experience, preferably with a Big 4 auditor, is highly desired 
  • Minimum 10 years of accounting, business analysis and/or plant experience 
  • Solid grasp of software development life-cycle methodologies Agile, Lean, etc. 
  • Experience in executing project management framework 
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation desirable 
  • Experience with a publicly-traded company subject to Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) requirements highly desirable 
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required for frequent interaction with financial and non-financial management 
  • Ability to identify core business use cases and partner with IT, Finance, and Operations to translate to configurable technical requirements 
  • Superb attention to detail, strong planning and organization skills, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and high degree of ownership and pride in work product 
  • Experience with Salesforce, CPQ/Billing, D365, NetSuite and PowerBI a plus 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and SQL skills 
  • Experience with robotics and other process automation solutions 
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team setting 
  • Obsessed with quality and proven ability to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to influence and build consensus

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 144,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 216,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
