What You’ll Contribute
As a member of the FICO Government Relations team, you will lead the development and execution of the company’s third-party engagement strategy within the DC policy community.
You will enhance and maximize FICO’s strategic relationships with nonprofits, academics, thought leaders, industry groups, and other organizations while forging partnerships where FICO can collaborate on initiatives that mutually advance aligned policy goals and programmatic priorities.
This position has high internal and external visibility and will be based in the Washington D.C. area with a remote/home office location.
Serve as the lead company representative to key third-party Washington, DC stakeholders including think tanks, nonprofits, consumer and industry groups where you will: (1) monitor and report on organizations’ policy priorities of interest; (2) build and grow third-party relationships that support FICO’s policy priorities; and (3) identify and implement strong partnerships on initiatives that align with FICO’s policy interests, established FICO programs, as well as FICO products and services such as those that further credit access, protect lenders and consumers from fraud, and promote financial inclusion.
Identify opportunities and provide support for the participation of senior executives and company subject matter experts in DC stakeholder meetings and/or events.
Work collaboratively with internal FICO stakeholders to ensure alignment with FICO DC engagement/partnership activities with company-wide initiatives.
Identify opportunities and engage in outreach with members of Congress; congressional staff; executive and federal agency officials with a focus on partnering on initiatives which align with FICO areas of expertise and existing programs.
Manage and utilize outside consultants including the development and implementation of engagement strategies, the setting and execution of consultant deliverables as well as weekly meetings.
Work with the Vice President of Government Relations and FICO GR team in maintaining timely and effective policy updates, communications, and relationships with internal business partners.
What We’re Seeking
6-8 years of experience working on third party stakeholder management. Member of a corporate government relations team, public affairs firm, or trade association is preferred.
Lobbying/advocacy experience is a plus.
Experience developing engagement strategies that support business priorities.
Demonstrated knowledge of policy issues impacting the financial services industry including credit reporting and credit scoring, financial inclusion (including use of alternative data to expand credit access), financial education/financial literacy, fair lending, student lending, use of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to deliver effective presentations.

Must have excellent relationship-building skills, be diligent and proactive in problem solving, show excellent judgment, exhibit a high-level of integrity of trust and trust, employ effective strategic and tactical thinking, interact optimally with all levels of the organization from senior executives to staff level, and demonstrate the ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a small team environment.

The targeted base pay range for this role is: $126,000 to $198,000 with this range reflecting differences in candidate knowledge, skills and experience.
