The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:

RTX has an opening for a Director, Logistics Strategic Sourcing (Director, Logistics). Remote Opportunity.

Role Overview:

We're looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, changing environment. As the director of strategic sourcing, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the development and execution of all logistic strategic sourcing initiatives RTX-‑wide. You will lead a team responsible for identifying, negotiating and managing strategic supplier relationships to optimize cost, enhance efficiency, and ensure the highest quality of services across our diverse portfolio of businesses.

What You Will Do:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies aligned with the overarching business objectives of each business unit within RTX.
  • Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, including pricing, contractual agreements, and service level commitments, while mitigating risks
  • Supplier Development: Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers, ensuring alignment with company goals, and fostering continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Performance Management: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Spend Management: Drive cost savings initiatives through effective supplier negotiations, process improvements, and innovative sourcing strategies.
  • Market Analysis: Stay abreast of market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and optimization within the logistics sourcing landscape.
  • Team Leadership: Provide mentorship, guidance, and leadership to a team of sourcing professionals across multiple business units, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  • Travel up to 5% domestically

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically a minimum of 14+ years of supply chain experience and logistics experience; Advanced Degree and 12+ years related work experience
  • Experience in Sourcing, Negotiation, & Contracting
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with Project management, Change management, & Transition management
  • Experience in Supplier Relationship management & Supplier development
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels of an organization, as well as the ability to manage cross-functional / cross-business unit teams.
  • Demonstration of strategic development and vision
  • Ability to partner with Finance to develop strong business cases
  • Experience with Regulatory & ITC compliance  
  • Travel domestically
  • Advanced degree preferred.

Education Requirements:

Typically a bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related discipline.

The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
