Job Summary
The Director, Business Development may be based anywhere in the U.S. This person will be responsible for achieving bookings targets to develop business for Flex with existing and new customers.
What a typical day looks like:
- Develop new strategic alliances with key customers.
- Develop and/or Qualify leads and create and execute target account plans to understand customer/potential customers’ needs and meet with customers/potential customers virtually and in person to better understand their needs and present Flex’s capabilities
- Research and recognize customers’ and potential customers’ business strategy, future product plans, and expansion activities and align Flex resources were mutually beneficial.
- Work closely with the Business Development Team and the Finance Department to control budgets within the department.
- Assist current accounts in the development and execution of product roadmaps and act as a focal point in delivering Flex’s solutions which include concept development, industrial design, vertically integrated manufacturing of medical devices and/or equipment, and supply chain/logistics, and other services.·
- Represent Flex Ways of Working when interacting with internal & external contacts.
- Using company resources, create and articulate business plans for internal approval tied to quotations for customer acceptance in support of business opportunities.
- Close business by negotiating contract terms with customers/potential customers.
The experience we are looking to add to our team:
- A Bachelors or Masters Degree in a relevant field
- Sales experience in the Medical Devices market, with a strong industry network
- Experience with complex deals and contract negotiation
- Strong financial acumen
- Experience with Account Planning and CRMs
- Exceptional presentational skills, both written and verbal

- A degree or background in engineering
- PCBA and/or EMS experience
- Plastics manufacturing knowledge
- Experience with logistics
