About the Role:

CrowdStrike is hiring a Sr. DevOps Engineer to help build and deploy automation and configuration to drive massive log management scale. We are looking for a highly-technical, hands-on Engineer with experience using configuration management software (Chef & Ansible) to release + manage software as well as orchestrating containerization systems such as Kubernetes. You will develop and maintain Jenkins jobs, infrastructure as code, configuration repositories, linux daemons, and other core infrastructure services to support the CrowdStrike engineering team.

About the Team:

CrowdStrike Falcon LogScale, formerly known as Humio, is a 5+ petabyte per day centralized log management technology that allows organizations to make data-driven decisions about the performance, security and resiliency of their IT environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage secure, well-tested, and high-quality infrastructure

  • Research and iterate on ideal system and application configurations for optimization and reliability

  • Automate tasks and develop tools to increase engineering efficiency and visibility. Implement observability improvements and alerting for large-scale cluster environments

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for testing and releasing configuration and software

  • Work closely with Engineering and Customer Support to troubleshoot time-sensitive production issues

  • Process and manage release deployments through established workflows

  • Contribute to security and compliance enhancements for log collection and management systems

What You'll Need:

  • Several years experience with large-scale, business-critical Linux-based environments

  • Experience with public/hybrid clouds like AWS/GCP/Azure. Bonus points for OCI experience.

  • Bash, Python

  • Chef/Ansible, Terraform configuration management

  • On-call on a rotational basis

  • Understanding of observability tools and metrics

  • Familiarity with security and compliance requirements for log management systems

  • Kubernetes or similar containerization experience

  • Working with CI/CD, Jenkins (pipelines), Git, Artifactory, Bitbucket

  • Ability to obtain CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) certification

Legal Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card holder)

  • Must be able to pass an extensive background check and fingerprinting process

  • Must be eligible to work on government systems requiring security clearance

Bonus Points:

  • Knowledge of centralized log management systems

  • Proven ability to work effectively with both local and remote teams

  • Rock solid communication skills, verbal and written

  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or Mathematics.

  • Experience working with government cloud environments

  • Agile / Scrum experience

CrowdStrike, Inc. is committed to equal pay for equal work in its compensation practices. The base salary range for this position in the U.S. is $135,000 - $215,000 per year + variable/incentive compensation + equity + benefits. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location.
