Role Summary:
The Commercial Account Manager is responsible for the success, growth, and development of acquired commercial customers across the fueling, retail, utility, automotive and other industries. Liaising closely with internal teams, this role will convey information succinctly to internal and external parties, serve as a primary point of contact to the client, and provide program management and overall oversight across the full project lifecycle (from planning through operations). The role is responsible for ensuring the financial success of assigned accounts through budget management, revenue growth, performance tracking, and weekly revenue forecasting. The role must also maintain customer satisfaction from onboarding through project implementation and ongoing operations.
In alignment with management and technology/product colleagues, the Commercial Account Manager will maintain expert–level technical product knowledge of existing and forthcoming products and services. In this capacity, the role will seek to expand scope and opportunities at the same time as ensuring client satisfaction and delivery accuracy. The role will be responsible for monitoring client’s budget, explaining costs, managing contract renewal, and addressing mid-stream re-negotiation requests, and keep customers informed on product developments and industry advancements.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in managing client relationships with a specific emphasis on energy, green technology, or other related technical products and services. The Commercial Account Manager will demonstrate proven experience mentoring colleagues and implementing strategic thinking towards growth planning and account management.
Role Responsibilities:
Main responsibility –50% of time spent
- Be the voice and champion of the customer. Uncover client business initiatives and pain points to drive internal product and sales teams to map and implement solutions.(10%)
- Anticipate client confusion, delays and concerns and alleviate through effective communication and expert understanding of how Electrify America products can grow their business. In doing so, set the vision for their electrification investment. (5%)
- Act as technical liaison between clients and Commercial, Marketing, Product and Operations departments to create continuous feedback loops to ensure timely and accurate project implementation and delivery (10%)
- Through clear communication and technical expertise, work as the designated subject matter expert of Electrify Commercial’s product and services to existing Commercial clients to establish and maintain trusted, close working relationships with clients, including decision-makers, C-Level Executives, project managers etc. (10%)
- Consistent tracking of assigned client’s financial performance, invoicing, revenue recognition, and forecasting. Internal and external advocate for efforts to ensure high-quality and expedient delivery of projects (15%)
Additional responsibilities – assign 30% of time
- Close collaboration with sales team member to verify client understanding and requirements for project implementation. (10%)
- Lead proactive discovery conversations to uncover new opportunities within existing accounts and expand scope and potential service offerings. (10%)
- Monitor client’s budget, explain costs, manage contract renewal and negotiate new terms if necessary. (10%)
Additional responsibilities – assign 20% of time
- Prepare accurate and thorough sales activity reports, forecasts and financial tracking. (10%)
- Work cross-functionally company-wide to gain visibility and buy-in for client needs, commercial activities and seek alignment for efficiencies with teams including product development, real estate and operation. (10%)
Qualifications
Years of Relevant Experience:
- 7-years of relevant experience in charging infrastructure deployment, utilities, technology/software, automotive, fuel, retail, or infrastructure relationship management
- 3-5 years of project management, business development, sales or sales strategy
Education (Required):
- Bachelor's Degree

- MBA or Master's Degree
Skills:
- Ability to lead communication with all levels of external clients from executives to individual contributors
- Ability to foster long-term strategic partnerships with high-value clients by influencing key decision makers
- Skilled at presenting complex ideas both verbal and written to technical and non-technical audience
- Highly organized: adept at managing multiple priorities effectively and working to deliver on-time with tight deadlines.
- Self-starter - demonstrates a high level of autonomy, initiative, resourcefulness, adaptability, and accountability in managing relationships and driving results
- Must be able to establish a high level of credibility with all levels of internal and external stakeholders through effective communication, deep industry and product knowledge, transparency, and integrity
- Able to develop and implement strategies towards long-term client growth by aligning client goals with internal growth targets and market dynamics
- Analytical and conceptual thinking towards problem solving – ability to use logic reason, creative, and strategic thinking to proactively solve problems
- Experience bringing people, processes, and systems together to achieve common goals
- Strong negotiation experience
Specialized Skills (Required):
- Proven ability to think creatively, adapt to ambiguity, and independently lead and execute initiatives with flexibility and effectiveness
- Excellent project management, innovation, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of energy services, fueling, EV charging, software, and infrastructure deployment environment
- Experience working on long and short-term strategic planning, aligning client goals with internal objectives
- Experience managing technical clients
- Demonstrated experience in negotiating and securing contracts
- Demonstrated high initiative and ability to create successful business plans in a complex environment
- Ability to take initiative and function in highly dynamic environment
Specialized Skills (Desired):
- Enthusiasm for an electric future
- Experience mentoring colleagues
- Strong experience using like Excel, Salesforce, Confluence, JIRA, CRM software
- PMP Certification
- Experience in electric vehicle infrastructure industry
- Understanding of EV Charging ecosystem (manufacturers, installation companies, utilities and related government agencies)
- Experience cultivating and developing pipeline of sales opportunities
Work Flexibility:
- Domestic travel is required; estimated at 25%

Salary range is dependent on factors such as geographical differentials, industry-based experience, skills, training, credentials, and other qualifications.
In the state of California, the salary range is $110,300 - $148,900.
In the state of Colorado, the salary range is $110,300 - $148,900.
In the state of Washington, the salary range is $110,300 - $148,900.
In New York City, the salary range is $132,400 - $178,700.
In Westchester County, the salary range is $132,400 - $178,700.
In the state of Rhode Island, the salary range is $110,300 - $148,900.
