Parsons is looking for an exceptionally talented and dynamic gas and electric business development leader to join our team! We seek a recognized industry leader to spearhead our growth strategy in the gas and electric utility sector. This service line includes planning, design, program and construction management for grid expansions, modernizations, resilience and renewable energy integration projects for the US utility companies.
In this role, you will be the driving force behind implementing customer-focused strategies to increase our market share and elevate our brand within our strategic markets, including Texas, Arizona, Florida, and Georgia. As a key member of the business development management team, you will provide visionary leadership to achieve sustainable and profitable growth within our North America utility sector. By fostering collaboration with the operational leaders, you will be instrumental in maintaining and growing Parsons’ reputation as a leader in the infrastructure industry. Your efforts will be crucial in developing and expanding our market by effectively partnering with top customer/agency leaders, local subcontractors and forming strategic industry alliances.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide business development leadership and direction for both private and government market sectors.
Understand complex business negotiations, recognizing and acting upon opportunities to promote Parsons’ expertise and successful past performance.
Travel extensively to cultivate new and ongoing business development endeavors.
Leverage your extensive network within utility companies and other engineering/construction firms to proactively develop project and program opportunities.
Build and implement effective sales and marketing initiatives to drive market growth.
Manage complex win strategies and proposal efforts, encompassing both conventional/traditional contract and procurement methods as well as collaborative project delivery methods.
Regularly interface with upper-level management and client personnel, ensuring alignment with Parsons’ strategic goals.
Report and coordinate with the North American Infrastructure Business Development Leader, Utility Sector Leadership, and other Business Development Managers to maximize the Energy & Environment Business Unit’s overall growth goals.
What You'll Bring:
A 4-year degree in a related field and 15+ years of broad and diversified experience within the gas and electric utility industry, with a proven track record of client relationship management in key regions across the US.
Demonstrated leadership in client relationship management, strategic planning, strategic teaming, and proposal strategy and negotiation.
Ability to leverage your key contacts with state and municipal electric and gas entities within the regions to build a robust sales pipeline for Parsons.
A deep understanding of infrastructure industry business practices and the negotiation of contracts.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and proficiency in PC software packages typically associated with business development.
