Sr Technical Program Manager, Billing

Position Overview:
Natera is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM), Billing to lead complex and high-impact initiatives that drive our billing platforms' scalability, reliability, and compliance. In this role, you will be a strategic thought partner to engineering, product, operations, and finance teams, ensuring that our billing infrastructure evolves to meet the demands of our rapidly growing healthcare and genomics business.
As a Senior TPM, you will own large-scale, cross-functional programs from inception to delivery. You will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to design solutions, manage risks, and deliver results that improve the accuracy, speed, and transparency of our billing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Ownership & Delivery:
- Lead end-to-end program management of complex billing initiatives, including roadmap planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Drive alignment on priorities, scope, and timelines across RCM operations, Billing Strategy, Engineering, Product, Finance, Compliance, and other business teams.
- Deliver innovative, scalable billing systems and solutions that meet evolving business and regulatory requirements.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Act as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and vice versa.
- Influence technical architecture and design discussions, ensuring solutions are aligned with business goals and long-term scalability.
- Facilitate trade-off discussions on scope, timeline, and resources to achieve optimal outcomes.
Process Optimization & Scaling:
- Define and improve processes for program execution, including planning, decision-making, risk mitigation, and communication.
- Implement best practices in program management to drive predictable, transparent, and high-quality outcomes.
- Identify and resolve systemic issues that impede program success, working with leadership to address organizational bottlenecks.
Communication & Reporting:
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on program status, key decisions, risks, and dependencies.
- Drive clear, transparent communication across multiple stakeholders to ensure alignment and awareness.
- Prepare executive-level presentations, status reports, and post-mortem analyses.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-6 years of technical program management and/or product management experience in a fast-paced technology environment.
- 2+ years experience with Healthcare Revenue Cycle processes
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional, large-scale technical programs end-to-end, preferably in billing, payments, or financial platforms.
- Deep understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), technical architecture, and cloud-based platforms.
- Ability to dive deep into technical details, challenge assumptions, and guide teams toward effective solutions.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, relationship-building
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Experience with EMR systems - strongly preferred
SQL experience - strongly preferred
Experience with product analytics platforms and tools such as AWS Datamesh, Quicksight, Power BI, Snowflake, Qlik Sense or similar - a plus
Healthcare billing experience - a plus
Experience in operational roles - a plus
Energy, enthusiasm, and sense of urgency.
