Sr. Specialist - Global Clinical Supplies, Master Planning (Hybrid)

Job Description

The Supply Chain & Materials Management (SCMM) Team is responsible for supply chain forecasting, scheduling and inventory management to enable the Global Clinical Supply (GCS) business.  The scope includes drug products, placebos, packaging components and clinical finished goods.   The Team assures accurate siting and balancing of supply chain activities against work center capacity, and the efficient management of changes to minimize the risk of delivery to final depot.  The group also maintains a keen forward-looking view of the overall clinical portfolio of demand and partners across the business to ensure execution strategy is well-positioned for future supply chain dynamics.

The component planner is responsible for the end-to-end procurement of components, including Material Master creation, planning oversight, delivery and release of components for use in clinical finished good production. The component planner is also responsible for the SOPs related to Component Management, and management of any CAPAs, Deviations, or Change Controls related to the component space. This role will also promote supply chain performance and optimization and other strategic Supply Chain Management (SCM) initiatives.  The Sr. Specialist will remain actively engaged with key stakeholders (Quality, Compliance, Logistics, Planning, Operations, Business Analytics, and external business partners (CMOs)) to assure that processes are performing as designed and meeting both ongoing and developing business requirements.                                                                                                                  

Primary activities include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to the collective success of the GCS Master Planning Team to execute SCM business

  • Prioritize, manage, and mitigate supply chain scheduling, release, and delivery risks

  • Develop metrics, track, and communicate progress within group and to cross-functional stakeholders

  • Collaborate with internal partners (both within and outside of GCS) to assess, align and optimize supply chain processes

  • Understanding of analytical standards and testing processes and apply them in the management of components as needed.

  • Management of CAPAs, SOPs, and Change Controls as needed

  • Partner with external Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs), as needed, to drive business and improve performance.

  • Willingness to learn other subfunctions within the broader Supply Chain & Materials Management (SCMM) group.  Examples include Bulk Product Planning, Material Transfers, and Packaging.

  • Mentor new/junior Components’ associates as needed

Education:

  • High school diploma. Bachelor’s Degree in business, supply chain management, engineering or scientific discipline preferred.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years knowledge of supply chain processes and supply planning. Knowledge of clinical supply processes and influencing factors is preferred.

  • Strong awareness of diversity and inclusion principles.

  • Proven track record of robust analytical skills, effective problem solving, and attention to detail

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and initiatives appropriately to mitigate supply risks.

  • Results-orientation with the proven ability to execute on collaborative projects and develop subject matter expertise

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and relationship skills along with high personal integrity, credibility, and energy.

  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.  Experience build effective relationships across the business (internally and externally)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.  Familiarity with SAP, Spotfire, QLIK or other data analytics/visualization software preferred.

  • Understanding of cGMPs

  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)

  • Demonstrated high level of initiative and ability to function independently with minimal or no daily supervision

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Expected US salary range:

$101,100.00 - $159,100.00
