Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in application development, interested in a shift toward IT Automation and Cloud Development. This role is central to transforming a global enterprise into a modern, software-defined environment. Ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of software engineering concepts and principles and be comfortable adapting to any language or technology stack as required by the project's evolving needs.  The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) Program, for the US Coast Guard (CG). 

 

Location: 100% Remote

 

Typical Candidate Profile:

Seeking a professional who began their career as a software engineer, deeply engaged in application development. Prior experience in I.T. automation is not required.  

 

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • API Integration: Develop code for seamless API interaction and endpoint connectivity, enabling efficient data movement and automation.
  • Creative Solutions: Develop creative coding solutions in scenarios where APIs are unavailable.
  • Legacy Automation: Address challenges in automating legacy systems, particularly in environments with limited documentation.
  • Python Proficiency: Achieve expertise in Python for infrastructure automation, maintaining proficiency in additional languages and tools within a GitLab environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively work with cross-functional IT teams to develop and refine system automation strategies. This Software Engineer will collaborate with the Systems Admins to write automation for their systems and tools.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience or Master's degree and 6 years experience or HS Diploma/equivalent and 12 years experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Prior experience in a commercial, non-governmental setting.
  • Experience writing large enterprise applications, working alongside global teams. 
  • Must have a software engineering background.
  • A robust understanding of core software engineering methodologies required.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors. Apply
