Senior Product Manager, Cloud
United States, Canada
Funded by premier investors including GV and Lightspeed, Redpanda is building the streaming data platform for developers. We’re evolving streaming beyond the Apache Kafka® protocol into a unified “engine of record” that delivers a categorical reduction in complexity, wicked-fast performance, onboard Wasm transforms, and transparent tiered storage that gives consumers access to both real-time and historical data from a single API.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to guide the evolution of our cloud service capabilities for the Redpanda data platform. Reporting to the VP of Product, you will work with customers and study the market to gather data, drive the strategic roadmap for several of Redpanda’s cloud capabilities, and guide their inclusion into our Dedicated and BYOC cloud offerings. You will also help drive the technological vision in these areas, following the latest trends and advising the team on new technologies, standards, approaches, and potential partners in order to stay on the leading edge.
This is an opportunity to work closely with product and engineering leadership and the respective teams at a fast-growing, well-funded startup, building and delivering category-leading products. This role requires deep comfort with enterprise data and infrastructure technology, working closely with customers often in high pressure situations, and collaborating cross-functionally across technical and non-technical teams in a fast-paced environment, juggling many tasks and responsibilities.
You Will:
- Meet with customers, analyze the competitive landscape, and identify market opportunities to shape the company's product strategy in your areas of responsibility
- Define requirements for new features through PRDs and prioritize them appropriately in the product roadmap. Some examples of major functional areas Cloud PMs work on include new cloud compute infrastructure, releasing storage engine features (Tiered Storage), security features (SSO/OIDC), and performance/multi-tenancy features such as resource quotas. You will also focus on delivering these capabilities end-to-end and often includes working with our design team to deliver the optimal UX through a mix of GUI, CLI, and API interfaces
- Communicate new features internally and externally and help articulate the value proposition, messaging, and pricing. This involves training GTM teams, sharing roadmap and product pitches with customers, writing public blogs, and attending industry conferences
- Collaborate with multiple internal teams (including Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success) to ensure we ship the right features, at the right time, with the right user experience to match the expectations of various user personas inside our customer’s organizations
- Own delivery of features end-to-end, picking up tasks wherever needed, reviewing documentation, and creating the telemetry required to measure the success of feature launches after rollout
You Have:
- 4+ years of experience in direct role-related product management for B2B enterprise software platforms, particularly data infrastructure, data integration or other SaaS or distributed systems
- 7+ years of experience overall experience in enterprise software companies
- Experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to concisely explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences (and vice-versa)
- Experience working with a 100% distributed / remote team, collaborating in GitHub/JIRA, Slack, Google docs and other modern productivity tools independently and efficiently
- Experience switching context frequently to address customer, engineering, and go-to-market issues and requests
- Experience working closely with highly technical products and customers
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience
U.S. base salary range for this role is $178,000 - $220,000 (CA, NY, WA) and $171,000 - $215,000 (other US locations). Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. As a remote-first company, we strive to consider each candidate's job-related skills, location, experience, relevant education or training to determine individual base salary. Your talent partner will share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
