The Role
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in guiding a team of exceptional engineers to develop the Vault Platform. You thrive in a dynamic, agile environment and excel at solving complex challenges, all while creating impactful software that ultimately makes a positive impact on people’s lives.
What You'll Do
- Lead & Mentor: Recruit and cultivate a high-performing team, inspiring individuals to achieve 10x the impact of average engineers through mentorship and support.
- Drive Development: Take ownership of key product features, collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment with our strategic goals.
- Enhance Processes: Continuously refine and improve development processes as the team evolves, promoting agility and efficiency.
- Collaborate & Deliver: Work within a small, agile team to successfully deliver multiple features, fostering strong relationships with product stakeholders.
- Strategic Partner: Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, helping to navigate decisions and drive team alignment with broader organizational objectives.
Requirements
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in software engineering management (5+ years) with a strong background in agile development and 8+ years of commercial software development in Java.
- Problem Solver: A track record of tenacity and technical brilliance, with the ability to adapt quickly and contribute meaningfully.
- Attention to Detail: A commitment to delivering high-quality work and maintaining high standards.
- Dynamic Leader: Ability to motivate and inspire your team, instilling a sense of ownership and accountability.
- Strong Communicator: Excellent communication skills to foster collaboration and effectively convey ideas.
- Mentorship Skills: Demonstrated success in sourcing, hiring, mentoring, and leading teams to achieve excellence.
- Technical Knowledge: Expertise in object-oriented design, application development tools, APIs, and/or enterprise application platforms.
- Candidates located in Pacific or Mountain Time zones are required; Bay Area preferred

Compensation
- Base pay: $130,000 - $300,000
- The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
