Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers.  The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding professionals in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Vice President of the Commercial Field Teams, The Senior Director of Commercial Training, Learning & Development  will spearhead the development and implementation of a comprehensive training academy aimed at achieving unusually deep scientific/clinical acumen, enhancing sales excellence through skill-building efforts and implementing a differentiated sales model, cultivating modern-day marketing skills, and fostering coaching & leadership behaviors throughout the organization. This role involves curriculum development, overseeing training delivery, measuring effectiveness, and ensuring continuous improvement to meet the company’s strategic goals. This person will be accountable for building-up a training team and evolving it’s functionality and scope over time. 

This role is remote with ~20% travel required.

  • Builds, leads and develops the training team, fosters a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

  • Designs & executes the strategic plan for the training team in alignment with company objectives and conducive with optimal commercial performance. Such strategies may include; personalized learning-paths, blended learning methods, peer-to-peer learning approaches and gamification/competition skills demonstration.

  • Collaborates with department heads and stakeholders to identify training needs and ensure the curriculum meets current and future business requirements.

  • Oversees the development of a comprehensive, multi-tiered training curriculum focused on tumor biology, clinical acumen, sales excellence, marketing excellence, and leadership development.

  • Ensures the training content is relevant, up-to-date, and tailored to the oncology biotech industry, incorporating best practices and innovative learning solutions.

  • Facilitates high-impact training sessions and workshops, ensuring they are executed to a high standard and meet learning objectives.

  • Leads and coordinates new hire orientation and training programs for Commercial Team.

  • Implements robust methods for evaluating training effectiveness, including participant feedback, assessment results, and business impact metrics.

  • Continuously improves the training programs based on feedback (including customer perceptions) and evolving business needs, ensuring our team remains at the forefront of industry standards.

  • ldentifies, evaluates and manages vendors to support training and operational needs.

  • Documents and maintain proper records of training initiatives.

  • Maintains strong communication channels with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on training initiatives, progress, and outcomes.

  • Collaborates with the administration of the Medical, Legal & Regulatory (MLR) process to identify the training requirements and the delivery of material for use.

  • Co-leads the development of the Learning Management System (LMS) with Compliance and Human Resources.

  • Manages the training budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to maximize return on investment.

  • Oversees the selection and procurement of training materials, technologies, and external training services.

  • Complies with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of RevMed activities.

Required skills, experience, and education:

  • Bachelors degree required, masters degree preferred in related discipline desired and 15 years of related work experience.

  • Prior commercial training experience in the Oncology space.

  • Prior experience leading teams of people (sales or otherwise).

  • Experience in small to midsize biotech space.

  • Prior and recent commercial field or field leadership experience.

  • Proven ability to manage, lead, mentor and on-board newer members of a team.

  • Oral Oncoytic product launch experience.

  • Demonstrated success managing many projects simultaneously in fast growing environment

  • Highly flexible and agile. Able to work with ambiguity and exhibit a high level of creativity, curiosity, influencing and collaboration to implement incremental gains that positively impact the learning of the field organization

  • Proven effectiveness in highly collaborative & cross-functional working environments.

  • Ability to work independently to execute strategic and tactical plans under tight timelines.

  • Ability to assemble and lead cross-functional teams toward a shared vision of success.

  • Ability to present ideas effectively to individuals or groups, targeting presentation to the needs of the audience.

  • Strong organization, planning, project management, technical and analytical skills.

  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of all relevant topics (i.e. biology of cancer , clinical acumen, sales skills, coaching, market access ) to this role.

  • Advanced degree or clinical experience in oncology (i.e. PharmD., Oncology RN/ANP or Physician’s Assistant).

  • Experience in the GI and/or NSCLC oncology space.

  • Other related experience (e.g., marketing, commercial ops, or other field roles.)

The base salary range for this full-time position is $236,000 to $295,000 for candidates based at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. The range displayed on each job posting is intended to be the minimum and maximum salary for the position in Redwood City and will be adjusted for the local market a candidate is based. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.
