Hi! My name is Sterling, VP of Demand Gen at Customer.io. We are looking for a dynamic and relationship-driven Senior Demand Generation Manager to lead our efforts in building and nurturing partnerships with accelerators, incubators, and venture capital firms and help us develop repeatable programs to support our lead generation efforts. Our Demand Generation team, which owns Customer.io’s lead-generating programs, account-based marketing efforts, and paid marketing strategies, plays an integral part in our broader GTM efforts, and we need more growth-minded marketers who have experience using startup programs to help us achieve our ambitious growth goals.

This role will focus on expanding our startup ecosystem, driving growth through partnerships, and enhancing the experience for startup program participants. You’ll play a critical role in achieving our demand generation targets by leveraging various marketing and sales techniques to recruit, grow, and convert startups in our program into long-term customers of our platform.

The perfect candidate is excited to support our startups as they move through our program and should possess a methodical approach to using data to drive progress. Candidates with the strongest fit will have experience working within multiple marketing channels and initiatives to generate leads, increase brand awareness, and implement targeted marketing campaigns to drive engagement and conversion.

Some things you’ll do

Campaign Management:

  • Collaborate with the demand generation team to execute co-marketing campaigns with partners to drive new signups
  • Plan and host educational workshops, webinars, and events tailored to the startup audience.
  • Leverage partner insights to refine campaign targeting, messaging, and channel strategies to deliver against lead and revenue goals
  • Develop segment-focused nurture experiences for existing leads in our startup program funnels to get them reactivated

Performance Analysis:

  • Track and analyze the success of partnerships and related campaigns, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Work with the data team to develop dashboards that monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including lead generation, partner engagement, and customer acquisition.

Partner Management:

  • Design scalable marketing programs to educate and engage potential partners on the benefits of our startup initiative to expand the reach of our startup program
  • Successfully onboard and develop new partnerships with VCs, accelerators, and incubators.
  • Maintain and strengthen existing partnerships to drive greater adoption of Customer.io’s platform among startups.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with sales, growth, and customer success teams to ensure a seamless experience for startups in the funnel.
  • Work with content creators to develop compelling partner and customer-facing materials.
  • Provide market and partner insights to influence go-to-market strategies and inform future initiatives.

What we’re looking for

Experience:

  • 5+ years in a business development, marketing, or similar role, preferably in a SaaS or startup ecosystem.
  • Proven success in managing partnerships that drive measurable business results.
  • Demonstrated experience hitting target goals with the development and execution of integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns and programs

Strategic Mindset:

  • Ability to create and execute long-term partnership strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Skilled in data-driven decision-making and campaign optimization.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a talent for building trust and credibility with partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver compelling presentations.

Project Management:

  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with remote work collaboration tools such as Salesforce, Slack, Notion, G-suite and/or other business management/reporting systems

Passion for Startups:

  • Deep understanding of startup challenges and a commitment to enabling their success.
  • Experience collaborating with accelerators, incubators, and key influencers in the venture capital industry.

What You'll Achieve

By 3 Months:

  • Fully understand the startup ecosystem and our existing partnerships.
  • Begin executing initial co-marketing campaigns and partnership engagements.

By 6 Months:

  • Develop a comprehensive partnership strategy to grow Customer.io’s startup presence.
  • Launch scalable programs that enhance startup onboarding and adoption.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to introduce improvements to scalability of program

By 12 Months:

  • Establish Customer.io as a trusted partner within the global startup ecosystem.
  • Drive measurable growth in qualified leads, customer acquisition, and MRR from startup partnerships.
  • Own revenue reporting on this program in collaboration with our data team.

Customer.io is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. We are offering a starting salary of $145,000 USD (or equivalent in local currency) depending on experience and subject to market rate adjustment.
