Senior Analyst, UM Authorization Strategy

Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Senior Analyst, Utilization Management Authorization Strategy to join our Utilization Management Authorization Strategy team.

About the role

You will develop, analyze, and monitor key dashboards to drive operational excellence and opportunity identification in the authorization space. You will work cross-functionally to understand our data needs, drive projects that support identifying areas to enhance our strategy, and develop scorecards to monitor the value of solutions we have implemented. 

You will play a key role in the development of our overall strategy and will provide key input into strategic discussions to drive business growth. Initially, you will place a heavy emphasis on evaluating opportunities for automation as we build new capabilities to scale as we grow. An emphasis will be placed not only on data-driven decisions but also converting them to financial opportunities. An understanding of ROI and conversion of data points to economic value will be an accelerator to taking on this role.

You will report to the Director, UM Authorization Strategy.

Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $76,800 - $100,800 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $69,120 - $90,720 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support to identify opportunities, develop strategies, and prioritize initiatives based on team or organizational opportunities, growth targets, and trends.
• Work with their lead to evaluate overall departmental performance by supporting the creation, gathering, analyzing and interpreting of data and metrics as well as assisting in development of departmental metrics and implementation of mitigation strategies
• With support from their leader, works with all relevant internal stakeholder groups to provide support and insight in formulating proactive implementation, communications, and program strategies for successful change management and risk mitigation initiatives 
• Maintain relationships with a variety of cross functional teams to achieve results for essential programs
• Translate data analysis into synthesized, visually appealing insights and conclusions
• Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or 4+ years commensurate experience
• 1+ years experience in consulting, corporate strategy, market development, finance, or a related field 
• 1+ years experience in SQL building models and generating reports, analyzing large datasets, using pivot tables, formulas, and conditional formatting. 
• 1+ years Experience synthesizing and summarizing findings through data visualizations and effective storytelling
• 1+ years experience running data and financial analyses and working cross-functionally to drive opportunities and increase growth & profitability
• 1+ years experience in constructing presentation materials aimed at Senior Leadership

Bonus Points

• Healthcare experience and an understanding of provider/payer market, particularly in the ACA marketplace, is strongly preferred
• Experience with clinical data (Utilization Management, Care Management, Claims) 
• Management consulting, market research, or data analysis experience
• Experience with Tableau

Pay Transparency:  Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
