JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
The Director, Product Sales Engineering will be a key player in the successful selling of financial products to prospective partners and existing customers. This role is responsible for learning and understanding Green Dot’s platform capabilities, describing to partners, identifying alignment with new use cases in the financial services space as well as the overview documentation for any new build. This person needs to be able to juggle multiple parallel initiatives in a high growth environment.
The Director, Product Sales Engineering must be a dynamic, data driven, quick learner, critical thinker with deep product management expertise and a passion for building key financial solutions in the consumer and B2B2C space. They must possess a deep technical understanding, strong communication skills, familiar with API-enabled financial service platforms, good analytical skills, and strong business acumen.
What Success Looks Like
- Partner with sales to understand partner goals and requirements and be able to assess how well it fits with Green Dot’s BaaS and Money Movement platform.
- Ability to produce and maintain solution descriptions and requirements documentation for the successful handoff to Product Management and Engineering delivery teams
- Works collaboratively across engineering, marketing, sales, legal, fraud, risk and customer support
- Responsible for identifying and working to deliver controls and monitoring to ensure future partners will operate with healthy & compliant financial products
- Drive continuous improvement in working methodologies, process, and staff development across the sales to onboarding spectrum
- Ability to interpret client requirements and translate into high level product use cases for a successful delivery
- Build a variety of solutions, alongside a compelling story to drive the sales process
- Develop a deep understanding of embedded finance solutions to create new opportunities
- Ability to travel to and represent the company at industry events
- Visit & engage with key customers as required to maintain relationships and increase sales
- Anticipates partner needs and engages in active selling
You might be the right match for this role if you:
Have a proven track record with bringing ambiguous concepts to life through the art of storytelling and can “close the deal” resulting in new business. You have experience working cross functionally with Business Development, Account Management, Product Management and Design / UX to interpret partner needs and create a flow diagram for illustrative purposes. You have the ability to analyze and solve complex issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
- 6+ years of experience required in fintech or financial services
- Experience working with B2B sales teams and communicating with partners and/or prospects
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Working knowledge of JIRA
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Passion for continuous learning on industry trends
- A willingness to roll up their sleeves and do the work with a can-do attitude
Not Required but Helpful Qualifications
- MBA
- Previous sales experience

The targeted base salary for this position is $157,100 to $235,800 per year. The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.<<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>><<>>
