The Relationship Manager (RM) acts as the strategic point of contact on assigned Government 457(b) plans between $10 - 50MM, ensuring exceptional client service and plan sponsor satisfaction. The RM is accountable for strategy, overall service delivery, evaluating, improving and managing client satisfaction, risk/retention efforts, book of business economics, and plan management. The RM must successfully drive plan and participant outcomes as defined by the plan sponsor and Empower. The RM will collaborate with plan sponsors and internal partners to transform each plan by successfully identifying, socializing, managing, and delivering better processes and solutions for each client and their participants.
This RM will cover plans in Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio and Michigan and MUST be based in this territory with ability to travel as needed.
What you will do
Maintain client relationships, enhance overall client satisfaction, actively reduce risk of client loss, and improve the financial viability of client relationships
Enhance revenue and work with internal partners to improve plan relationship efficiency
Consistently reinforce assigned clients’ buying decision and strengthen overall client relationships
Conduct client meetings, work with internal SMEs and the entire service team to bring Empower’s best thinking to clients in the areas of plan design, funding, administration, participant communications, compliance, fiduciary governance and industry trends
Identify and effectively report key indicators, recommend solutions and identify opportunities to leverage talent and connections to retain and enhance the relationship
Provide clients with regular updates on plan statistics, regulatory changes, and industry trends
Partner with internal shared services team to effectively support the client to meet all contractual requirements and improve client satisfaction and profitability
Work with the client service team to develop material, present to the client, and implement client business planning deliverables
Demonstrate leadership, offer peer support, and collaborate on tactical execution of key initiatives
Participate in new business finals presentations and client site visits to build rapport with clients, and manage client expectations beginning with the sales process and continuing throughout the relationship
Maintain plan persistency and grow book of business via achieving 100% client persistency, increase new enrollments and contributions, and adopt new political sub-divisions (if applicable)
Strategic thinking that enables the RM to create and drive strategy and business results
Problem-solve for root cause using innovative and creative solutions
30% travel to client / prospective client meetings
What you will bring
Bachelor’s degree required
3 - 5 years of industry or relationship management experience within the industry
Prior experience with retirement plan administration and/or working with Government/public sector or Taft Hartley/union clients
Demonstrated experience in identifying solutions and resolution to issues and plan design matters
FINRA 6 & 63 registrations required within established timelines
FINRA fingerprinting required

Base Salary Range
$85,600.00 - $120,925.00The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
