Medtronic Pain Interventions is currently looking for a Regional Reimbursement Economic Consultant who will partner closely with the sales teams, healthcare providers/decision makers, and payers to increase their acceptance, adoption and ongoing utilization of Pain Intervention products and therapies.  Click here for information about our Pain Intervention Therapies. A Day in the Life

In this role, you will report to the US Manager, Reimbursement and Health Economics for the Pain Intervention Therapies Business.  You will work independently with the sales teams, healthcare providers and payers to help ensure patient access to Medtronic Pain Intervention Therapies.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining proactive relationships influencing payers, providers, and other purchasing decision makers.
  • Tracking payer/provider trends by geography. Integrate economic buyers feedback into Pain Intervention Therapies business planning (therapies to be pursued, current and future therapy trends, impacts and associated strategies).
  • Educating customers on the reimbursement landscape across all sites of service and payers, including developing practical solutions to overcome any barriers that may exist.
  • Daily troubleshooting to assist with provider health policy and reimbursement challenges.
  • Partnering and supporting the national field sales organization to define and execute therapy access strategies and tactics.
  • Assisting in developing reimbursement tools and materials for internal/external customers.
  • Providing training and education for internal/external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring personal understanding of all quality policy/system items that are applicable.  Following all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work.
  • Travel less than 10% of the time.
Must Haves - Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have – Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in business, healthcare, health policy or related field.
  • 6-7 years of medical device coding, coverage, and payment reimbursement experience.
  • Work experience directly related to the payer or healthcare provider decision makers (C-suite, administration, director –level) physician, private practice managers)
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic relationships and concepts with key influencers utilizing business and financial measures with economic modeling
  • Experience creating and giving presentations
  • Experience utilizing effective influencing and sales skills
  • Knowledge and/or experience negotiating payer/provider contracts
  • Experience building strong cross-functional partners

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$164,000.00 - $246,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
