About the Role:
The Project Pursuit Manager (PPM) is a critical revenue-generating position, responsible for developing and advancing project opportunities through the sales process. In this role, you’ll collaborate with Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), sales leadership, and customers to manage a portfolio of assigned projects and build a robust project funnel. You will also serve as a domain expert in customer-facing project situations and take the lead in building strategic relationships with Engineering & Consulting (E&C) firms, System Integrators (SIs), and OEM accounts to drive sales success.
A Day in the Life:
Source and Develop Projects: Identify new project opportunities and implement strategies for project pursuit, including pricing, prospecting, and service offerings.
Manage Projects: Lead and manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring accuracy and progress within the project funnel, while providing expert guidance on customer specifications and requirements.
Influence Key Accounts: Travel to key customer sites to drive project discovery and progression, building strong relationships along the way.
Salesforce Reporting: Utilize Salesforce for tracking and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure project success.
Mentor and Lead: Act as a player-coach, providing leadership and mentorship to drive rapid project pursuit adoption across the team.
Customer Engagement: Organize and lead lunch and learn sessions with end-users, system integrators, and E&C firms to strengthen relationships and project pipelines.
Critical Competencies:
Strong understanding of complex sales, consultative selling, and customer markets.
Proven track record of successfully managing large, complex project portfolios and delivering results.
Ability to influence and drive collaboration at all levels, both internally and with customers.
Strong communication skills to navigate technical and commercial sales situations.
The Essential Requirements of the Job Include:
A BA, BS, or MS degree in a commercial or technical discipline.
7+ years of experience in complex sales, project management, or a combination of both.
Strong knowledge of instrumentation, control technologies, and specifications (drawings, P&ID).
Familiarity with Hach's key vertical markets, such as Municipal, Power, Beverage, and Oil & Gas.
Formal sales methodology training and experience in value selling.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
