Product Owner, Oncology - LIMS
POSITION SUMMARY:
As part of the Oncology Software Product team, the Product Owner, Oncology will help achieve Natera's oncology strategic imperatives through excellence in technology.
They will work on products that are critical to lab operations, R&D, process development, customer support, commercial operations, genetic counseling, reporting, bioinformatics, statistics, and more. They will need to deeply understand the end-to-end workflow and the technical details of the software systems to deliver our best in class personalized genetic tests.
They will use this knowledge to translate and document detailed use cases and software product requirements for one or more development teams. The Product Owner must be able to drive prioritization and critical decision-making on solutions. They will also need to be able to effectively work regularly with an engineering team that they are assigned to work with and own the backlog of work and all technical requirements for those engineers to know what they need to build and test.
FOCUS AREA:
The development team(s) that this Product Owner role will be working with will be focused on developing our current primary system used to enable fulfillment of our oncology diagnostic testing products. This will include both maintaining the current production workflow supported by the system, as well as implementing changes needed for a new architecture of software systems that are being introduced with heavy integration needs with the current fulfillment system.
As the Product Owner for this team, it will be important to be able to derive and document requirements regarding complex business workflows, technical designs and systems integrations. Additionally, this role will be a direct contributor to development projects introducing new software systems for oncology products. So, experience with understanding cross-system workflows and giving guidance on what’s needed to meet requirements across other systems beyond the one directly owned will greatly expand the impact that this role can have.
