About The Job


Red Hat's Global Consulting Services organization is is adding a Principal Program Manager in Raleigh or Boston. As a Principal Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing complex, strategic programs that have significant impact on business objectives and relationships. This role operates with minimal supervision, setting and achieving mid-term objectives in alignment with overall business goals. As Program Manager, you'll serve as a functional expert, leading the activities of cross-functional teams and mentoring colleagues within the discipline. Exercising expert judgment and advanced business acumen, this role resolves highly complex issues that influence the success of critical projects, partnerships, and key business processes.

Preferred work locations are Red Hat's world headquarters in Raleigh, NC or Red Hat's Boston's Seaport District facility. Exceptionally well-qualified applicant may also be considered to work remotely.

What You Will Do


• Lead, manage, and influence large-scale, strategic programs that significantly impact business objectives, ensuring successful delivery from conception to completion
• Partner with senior leadership and stakeholders across the organization to align program objectives with business priorities, ensuring cohesive and strategic program implementation
• Act as a thought leader and subject matter expert, guiding program managers and teams across functions to develop best-in-class program strategies that enable organizational success
• Exercise expert judgment to resolve highly complex challenges, leveraging data and business intelligence to make informed decisions that influence the direction of critical projects and relationships
• Mentor and coach program managers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration, ensuring that skills and knowledge are developed within the team
• Regularly review and refine program strategies based on evolving business needs, industry standards, and technological advancements to keep programs future-ready and scalable
• Ensure that all programs adhere to internal policies, regulatory standards, and best practices, including managing compliance and risk through proactive assessment and mitigation strategies
• Develop and implement key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of programs, ensuring continuous feedback loops for program improvement
• Manage complex vendor relationships, ensuring strategic alignment, quality of service, and cost efficiency, and holding external partners accountable to performance standards
• Lead organizational change initiatives related to program development, ensuring successful adoption of new programs, technologies, and methodologies within the organization


What You Will Bring


• 12+ years of relevant program and project management experience
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and ability to convey complex information to customers clearly and concisely in both languages
• Experience in leading digital transformation projects where technology and organizational change go hand in hand to deliver long term sustainability
• Ability to analyze data and create Tableau/Salesforce Sales Cloud/Consulting Cloud dashboards and reports
• Strong presentation skills with resources across the organization including senior level executives; ability to synthesize complex topics, at times under time pressure and in meetings, to clearly, and succinctly lead a group to a decision
• Experience managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional presentation skills with knowledge of and experience with virtual delivery platforms
• Ability to clearly and effectively present information, demonstrate procedures, and respond to questions in public setting
• Capacity to interact with customers and colleagues on different hierarchical levels using good persuasion skills
• Ability to engage management-level decision makers and influencers
• Ability to synthesize and analyze complex data to identify potential risks and draw meaningful conclusions
• Proactive project management mindset with a bias for action
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and collaborative environment
• Ability to work with many sales channels and routes to market
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent in a technology-related discipline
• Expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques; PMP is a plus
• Consulting delivery experience is ideal, consulting sales experience is a plus
• Ability to travel for meetings and attend events - up to 25%

The salary range for this position is $120,720.00 - $199,120.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
