The Role at a High Level:

As a Payroll Advisor, you will act as an expert in payroll, providing support to clients both internal and external. You’ll address complex payroll issues, offering solutions with confidence, speed, and accuracy. A key part of your role will be educating clients on payroll matters, guiding them to the right resources, and contacting government entities as necessary. You will also act as a payroll subject matter expert within Wagepoint, collaborating with colleagues on payroll-related projects or concerns.

What you'll be expected to own:

  • Client Support and Issue Resolution: Serve as the primary contact for complicated payroll-related inquiries. Provide clear and actionable guidance to clients, troubleshooting issues quickly to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Payroll Software Expertise: Master Wagepoint’s payroll software and stay updated with new features or updates to provide expert guidance to clients and internal teams.
  • Payroll Calculations and Adjustments: Assists clients in determining the issues related to calculations or incorrect input.  Guides them to the appropriate governing body to reach out to. Provide corrections, adjustments, and recommendations when necessary.
  • SME Collaboration: Act as a Subject Matter Expert for other teams & the Customer Success teams, supporting them with payroll-related inquiries and problem-solving.
  • Guiding Clients on Reporting and Documentation: Provide clients with the guidance for knowledge and tools to review payroll reports, deductions, incomes and tax forms. Guide them in navigating Wagepoint's payroll system to access and interpret the data they need.
  • Special Projects: Participate in special projects as needed, using your payroll expertise to support initiatives that may arise from other teams or departments.
  • Familiar with Compliance and Regulations: Be familiar with federal and provincial laws. Keep updated on relevant legislation. 
What You’ll Be Expected To Influence: 

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with the product and software development teams to identify areas where the payroll system can be improved or customized based on client feedback.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with your team and other departments to streamline payroll processes, driving operational efficiencies that benefit both the company and clients.

What you bring to the table:

Education & Experience:
  • Payroll Knowledge: Expert (PCP required).
  • 2+ years of experience in multi-provincial payroll processing, preferably within a payroll processing environment.
  • Experience in customer support/service within a SaaS company.
  • Accounting experience is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Competency in Google Suite applications.
