We’re Looking For A: National Sales Director, Strategic Accounts to to profitably grow our Golden Hippo pet brands within assigned channels and accounts, including Indy key accounts, Farm & Feed, Veterinary and Mass, in the U.S. as part of the overall retail strategy. 

Location: Remote, HQ Office in Woodland Hills CA. 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Achieve sales and spending goals within assigned channels and accounts
  • Create and execute channel level business plans
  • Lead, motivate and support Account Managers to help them deliver their goals with their respective channels and accounts: Veterinary, Indy Key Accounts, Farm & Feed and WalMart
  • Create and execute goals with one or two owned accounts 
  • Manage corporate relationships with MWI (Vet distributor) and VSI (F&F distributor)
  • Create relationships with key decision-makers at key accounts in all channels
  • Work internally across other retail channels to maximize opportunities 
  • Stay on top of industry trends and be a “voice of your customer” internally

Qualifications (Note: We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick ALL of these boxes.):

  • 10+ years of selling consumer goods 
  • 6+ years of selling pet products
  • 6+ years of selling to distributors and corporate accounts
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the year
  • Account Management experience with a large retailer
  • Farm & Feed experience
  • Pet experience in the independent pet and/or pet specialty channel
  • Experience with WalMart, Petco, Petsmart or Target
  • Negotiation skills
  • Account Management experience 
  • Persistence
  • Ability to work Collaboratively across internal and external teams
  • Work well with ambiguity 
  • Self-directed
