National Account Manager – Single Family & Multi-Family Builders

 

Summary

The National Account Manager will lead efforts to drive the adoption and sales of our products among targeted national single-family and multi-family home builders. Reporting directly to the Director of National Accounts, this high-visibility role is critical to achieving our long-term business objectives. The successful candidate will work independently while aligning with regional teams to execute strategies, negotiate pricing and rebate programs, and foster relationships with national builders. This role demands a professional with a proven track record in navigating complex sales cycles, building strategic partnerships, and achieving measurable results in the construction industry.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Development
    • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key national single-family and multi-family builders, aligning our offerings with their needs to drive product adoption and revenue growth.
    • Negotiate pricing structures and rebate programs tailored to drive volume and foster long-term partnerships.
    • Identify and prioritize target accounts in collaboration with leadership to achieve quick wins while maintaining a long-term growth focus.

 

  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Engage regularly with regional sales teams to communicate national-level initiatives, share success stories, and ensure alignment on goals and strategies.
    • Provide guidance and support to regional managers, offering insights and best practices from national engagements.
    • Represent the company at national and regional industry events to strengthen relationships and increase brand visibility.

 

  • Strategic Planning and Execution
    • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet and exceed sales volume, revenue, and product adoption targets.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and supply chain, to ensure alignment and resource optimization for strategic accounts.
    • Deliver periodic updates to the Director of National Accounts and the business leadership team on progress, challenges, and market opportunities.

 

  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting
    • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), including sales volume, revenue, and product adoption metrics.
    • Prepare and present detailed monthly reports on account performance and regional engagement.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of sales experience in the construction or building materials industry, with a focus on national account management.
  • Proven experience negotiating volume-based pricing and rebate programs.
  • Established network within the single-family and multi-family builder markets.
  • Strong ability to communicate, influence, and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic planning skills, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Willingness to travel up to 80%.

Total Rewards Package:

Compensation

  • Base: $100,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
  • Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
