Your role as the National Account Manager is to develop and maintain strong relationships with key retailers at the national level. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth, ensuring customer satisfaction, and developing long-term strategies for success. Also, you will manage and grow profitable sales and market share for the designated accounts. You will meet and exceed sales plan on key accounts and onboard new account opportunities. This role requires a blend of sales, account management, and strategic planning as well as in-depth knowledge of the automotive industry, strong analytical skills, exceptional negotiation, and effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with existing accounts and onboard new accounts, understand their business needs, and work to provide solutions that drive sales growth and value.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth and identify opportunities for product expansion, cross-selling, and upselling.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and execute account-specific business plans. Identify trends, market insights, and competitive threats to make an informed strategic approach.
  • Lead contract negotiations and discussions to ensure favorable terms and conditions and ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts, performance reports, and account updates to management. 
  • Monitor and analyze account performance and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for account-related inquiries and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing concerns and providing exceptional service.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to adapt strategies and stay ahead of the curve.
  • Work closely with the catalog department on real and/or perceived catalog issues
  • As requested by senior management, perform various tasks in support of the company. This may include, but is not limited to, doing field research, store visits, price shops, dealer visits, etc.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required, master's degree a plus
  • 3+ years of proven experience in national account management
  • Automotive industry experience with one or more of the following retailers is required: AutoZone, O’Reilly, Advance Auto Parts, NAPA Auto Parts, and Walmart; a passion for automobiles is a plus
  • Knowledge of how the US automotive aftermarket distribution channels operate, specifically mass merchants and key customer relationships
  • Experience managing large-scale negotiations with strategic customers.
  • Results-driven with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis.
  • Ability to travel as necessary to meet with key accounts and attend industry events. Up to 50% required.
  • Proven ability to pivot seamlessly in response to shifting priorities, ensuring continued strategic focus and high performance in dynamic sales environments.
  • Possess strong attention to detail, and ability to interpret and quantify large sets of data.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal relationship skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, PowerBI

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $110,000 - $ 140,000 per year, representing the potential compensation at the time of posting. Placement within this range will depend on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs. Eligible employees will also receive a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, holiday pay, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, short-term & long-term disability coverage, and a 401(k) plan
