A DAY IN THE LIFE:
The ideal candidate for this Sr Level role will be responsible for contract negotiation, C-suite relationships, and presentations across all departments within assigned National Managed Care Accounts. Drives the ongoing contract execution with appropriate analysis regarding profit and revenue forecasts.
YOU’RE AWESOME AT:
- Identifies and develops relationships at all levels within national managed care accounts with the end goal of negotiating and executing contracts.
- Analyzes and evaluates payor data including volume of sales, type of channel and financial models to create specific and compelling value propositions for each payor.
- Creates and delivers in-person and virtual presentations designed to obtain increased contracted rates and beneficial medical policies with both contracted and prospective accounts.
- Responsible for the implementation and measurement of payor contracts and medical policies.
- Collaborates with the Field Sales organization regarding the details of national contracts and how best to utilize them as well as appropriate messaging.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to optimize business value from each payor contract.
- Develops a strategy of ongoing risk assessments within each assigned account to ensure competitive immunity; communicates potential risks to Tandem leadership as needed.
- Creates and delivers quarterly business reviews with each account to ensure compliance and achieve performance metrics.
- Acts as point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders regarding medical policy questions.
- Serves as a consultant to various Tandem departments regarding trends and market analysis in the payor channel.
- Facilitates C-suite relationships between Tandem and its national account partners.
- Participates in national sales conferences and meetings to increase Tandem’s visibility.
- Networks with key Managed Care thought leaders.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.
EXTRA AWESOME:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a life science, business or marketing, or a combination of equivalent education and applicable job experience.
- 5+ years demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Medical device or Pharmaceutical industry sales experience.
- Health Care sales which included data and analytical value propositions.
- Exemplary managed care field leadership and pull-through results.
- 3+ years demonstrated success supporting national managed care accounts.
- Experience negotiating large contracts with demonstration of successful results.
- Experience in niche market and hyper-competitive environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing personnel, both administrative and sales/managed care preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the sales and negotiation process as it pertains to managed care payor, third party networks, and preferred provider organizations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate account data into a targeted business development strategy.
- Advanced computer and computer software skills, to include Microsoft Office products, CRM, and proprietary databases.
- Ability to create strong working relationship at all levels within client organizations.
- Skilled at negotiating with customers or management and influencing senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
- Adept at creating and communicating a clear vision and expectations among team members effectively aligning resources to achieve functional area goals.
TRAVEL:

Ability to travel by car or airplane up to 80% of the time.
- Able to travel as required and work from a home office; must maintain valid driver’s license and required auto insurance as well as good driving record, per company policy.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The starting base pay range for this position is $169,000 - $200,000 annually plus incentive compensation (commission-based compensation is based on the achievement of goals). Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package.
Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision available your first day, as well as health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts. You’ll also receive 11 paid holidays per year, a minimum of 20 days of paid time off (with accrual starting on day 1) and you will have access to a 401k plan with company match as well as an Employee Stock Purchase plan.
