Manager, National Ancillary Strategy and Contracting

Job Summary:

Manager, National Ancillary Strategy and Contracting is responsible for implementing and overseeing the execution of the National Ancillary Provider contracting strategy and service model goals and objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee the execution of the national ancillary contracting strategy; develop and monitor key metrics in support of existing new business opportunities and objectives and other CareSource national ancillary contracting needs    
  • Review national ancillary provider opportunities and assessments and make recommendations to leadership
  • Maintain expert knowledge and understanding of industry with focus on national ancillary provider trends and dynamics that affect business strategy 
  • Support development and oversee execution of national ancillary provider service model. 
  • Provide support to and enhance relationships with key national ancillary providers
  • Assist with the development and evolution of the team’s strategic direction, annual goals and objectives; recommends new processes and changes for increased department productivity
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key internal business partners
  • Support specialized contracting efforts, handle unique contracting situations, including facilitating contract changes and negotiations and facilitating the removal of barriers to ensure timely implementation of key contracts and providers
  • Develop and report on key accomplishments and issues to upper management
  • Set targets and priorities in order to support the departmental goals and objectives
  • Maintain and ensure proper documentation and SOPs are followed by staff
  • Implement and maintain key metrics for staff performance
  • Manage day to day operations of direct reports, to include hiring decisions, performance management, training and staff development
  • Participate in key committees, subcommittees, and/or workgroups as necessary
  • Manage multiple projects, collect and analyze data and disseminate to appropriate internal stakeholders as necessary
  • Review and coordinate contract language change requests with Director to ensure template accuracy and utilization
  • Collaborate cross functionally in the development of national ancillary specific strategies for contracting and engagement
  • Perform any other job duties as requested

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required
  • Five (5) years of contract negotiations experience is required with experience in contracting with and managing ancillary providers, such as DMEPOS, Home Health, Dialysis, Lab, and Home Infusion preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in health care or managed care is required
  • Previous management experience is preferred
  • Experience in provider relations is preferred

Licensure and Certification:

  • To help protect our employees, members, and the communities we serve from acquiring communicable diseases, Influenza vaccination is a requirement of this position. CareSource requires annual proof of Influenza vaccination for designated positions during Influenza season (October 1 – March 31) as a condition of continued employment. Employees hired during Influenza season will have thirty (30) days from their hire date to complete the required vaccination and have record of immunization verified.

Compensation Range:

$92,300.00 - $161,600.00
