About the Job
A successful candidate in this role will have an understanding of the important role leadership plays for CCS (Customer Content Services). As a manager across several teams in the Cloud Services piece of the portfolio and for a broad set of roles, the successful candidate will need to balance management activities (e.g., assessing performance, fostering teamwork, growth) with a strategic mindset to help align the team with corporate objectives.
Experience with change management, solution-minded thinking, team building, and delivering content experiences will be key to helping move the teams forward. Developing relationships across the business will also help the team with future needs.
What You'll Do
Ensure writing teams understand the business strategy, are invested in departmental goals, and how their product, solutions, and department goals align to the company strategy
Set expectations for success and resolve issues, conflicts in day to day work
Performance/developmental coaching for multiple role types (content strategist, technical writing managers, and documentation program managers)
Lead team through changes
Lead multiple teams toward a new documentation experience
Develop key relationships with stakeholders and peers across CCS (Customer Content Services
Foster a connected and resilient team
Help define, communicate, and track CCS-wide objectives and key results (OKR) details and guide actions, prepare for OKR review meetings by gathering data and completing the slide content
What You'll Bring
Strong skills in coaching, mentoring, or leading people in a collaborative, global environment
Experience and interest in improving customer or user experiences (internal or external)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build and to collaborate with diverse teams
Experience with and passion for driving change and continual improvement preferred
Degree or equivalent expertise in IT, technical communications, or related field preferred
Practical experience working as a technical writer in an enterprise software organization strongly preferred
Experience with or knowledge of Git and JIRA are preferred
Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
