Job Title: Linux Systems Administrator
Clearance Required: Public Trust
Work Location: Kansas City, MO or Remote
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide infrastructure support with expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8 and 9).
- Configure mount points for NAS/SAN storage devices.
- Manage physical and virtual systems, including VMware and HyperVisor.
- Install new OS on both physical and virtual machines.
- Configure OS settings, including IP addresses and DNS servers.
- Patch RHEL 8 and 9 and manage vulnerabilities.
- Utilize Ansible, Satellite, GitLab, or Tanium for automation and system management.
- Develop, maintain, and execute automation scripts in Python, PowerShell, and Shell.
- Troubleshoot incidents, develop resolution processes, and optimize system performance.
- Maintain configuration management solutions and system documentation.
- Monitor performance and resolve issues using IP network technologies.
- Collaborate with teams to improve security practices and enhance productivity.
- Support Linux infrastructure using tools such as VCenter, Active Directory, Centrify, Ansible, Satellite, GitHub, Nagios, and Tanium.
- Rack and stack servers as needed.
- Assist in maintaining the Computer Management Database (CMDB).
- Provide customer support for OS configurations related to application needs.
- Experience with Jenkins, Puppet, and cloud-native deployment tools is a plus.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- High School diploma or higher
Experience/Skills:
- 1-3 years of Linux Systems Administration experience or comparable training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training or experience with Microsoft Server Administration.
Certification(s):
- Linux+ or Red Hat Certification preferred.
Salary and Benefit Information:
The likely salary range for this position is $54,083.84 - $90,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
