Hyperscaler Business Development Manager

Microsoft provides managed IaaS solutions built on VMware’s Cloud Foundation (VCF) software stack. You will be an integral part of driving business synergies between VMware and Microsoft Azure field sales teams and leaders. VMware is a co-seller of this offering and strong partnership between sales teams is required for mutual success.

The Azure Business Development Manager coming into this role will help drive strong and meaningful relationships between our Azure sales teams and VMware core sellers in the AMER region. This is an individual contributor role responsible for growing our Azure business through communication and collaboration, identification of key accounts for joint pursuits and consistent business activation across the teams. The Azure BD Leader will possess ‘sales DNA’ and be a dynamic influencer and promoter of the Microsoft's first-party integrated VMware solutions.
What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
- Meet and exceed assigned Revenue and Bookings related goals and KPI’s.
- Learn the AVS business and how it ties into VMware’s overall multi-cloud strategy
- Proactively create, enable for and drive prescriptive sales plays and initiatives that grow pipeline opportunities amongst Microsoft and VMware by Broadcom sales Teams.
- Influence and enable Azure sales reps and leaders to make their integrated first party VMware offering a critical part of their cloud sales strategy with customers
- Build rapport, trust and deep relationships with Microsoft and VMware core leaders in the AMER region
- Effectively communicate sales pursuit progress to executive sales leadership
- Prioritize the various initiatives, programs and projects that VMware VCF Division is driving with it’s Microsoft's partners
- Build a strong relationship with key stakeholders within VMware core and Microsoft's partners
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
- Coordinate, schedule and facilitate key meetings between sales, leaders and other stakeholders at both companies
- Work closely with HYPS sales leaders to determine key performance indicators that help grow pipeline and accelerate deal closures
- Partner with HYPS’ sellers to increase their participation rates across AVS
- Resolve field sales conflicts in a manner that focuses on the customer and protects the VMware and Microsoft business partnership
- Partner with the Microsoft alliance managers to support the broader business relationship
- Travel 20% of the time for external partner conferences, events and meetings

You will be joining the Cloud Partner Business Development team comprised of business and technical resources. You will report to the Americas GEO Lead for Cloud Partner Business Development and Sales. Experience required: Bachelors and 12+ years of related experience; at this level a post-graduate degree is typically expected or Masters degree and 10+ years of related experience or PhD and 7+ years of related experience

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $103,000 - $182,000
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
