The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
The person hired for the position of Government Transportation Safety Representative will be responsible for meeting sales objectives by providing sales coverage in whole or in part of the States of Texas. 

As a Government Transportation Safety Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Achieving Sales Goals and Objectives in the assigned territory.
  • Focusing on the enhancement of transportation safety specifications across various government levels including the State Department of Transportation, Cities and Counties.
  • Calling on customers within assigned area or accounts
  • Participate and sell at trade shows and conferences.
  • Develop and implement effective sales plans.
  • Prepare administrative reports and presentations.
  • Influencing decision-makers and stakeholders in upgrading their sheeting and pavement marking specifications.

Company Vehicle

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of outside selling experience in a private, public and/or government environment
  • Current, valid Driver’s License

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master’s degree in business administration.
  • Territory account management experience is preferred.
  • Expert consultative selling skills in establishing specifications and standards.
  • Excellent computer skills, planning and organizational skills.
  • Government sales experience desired

Work location: Remote, TX / Sales Territory:  Austin, Texas

Travel: May include up to 75% domestic.

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
