Global Health & Wellbeing Manager

Assurant’s Total Rewards and Wellbeing team is expanding! We are seeking an experienced and strategic Global Health & Wellbeing Manager. As a vital contributor to our global benefits team, you will support the evolution and strategic goals of our organization with a concentrated focus on global health, wellbeing, and employee engagement/experience.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with leadership to support the overall strategy, design, and management of the Company’s benefit programs, focusing on healthcare benefits, point solutions, targeted health support programs, and total wellbeing.

  • Wellbeing Initiatives: Lead global wellbeing initiatives (physical, emotional, financial, social) and collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., ERGs, wellbeing champions) to foster a culture of wellbeing.

  • Performance Metrics: Establish metrics for program performance and prepare dashboards for senior leadership presentations.

  • Program Development: Advocate for new initiatives to improve workforce health and productivity, ensuring continuous improvement of the Company’s benefits portfolio.

  • Market Trends: Participate in surveys and benchmarking studies, staying informed on the latest benefit best practices and market trends.

  • Key Initiatives: Support important initiatives such as M&A and Open Enrollment.

  • Vendor Management: Oversee vendor relationships, ensuring high standards are met; monitor program metrics, evaluate efficiency and effectiveness, and present data-driven recommendations.

  • Contract Management: Manage contracts, renewals, and vendor risk requirements, working closely with procurement and legal teams.

  • Financial Monitoring: Monitor medical spend and prepare materials for quarterly benefits finance meetings.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and recommend operational process improvements and opportunities for streamlining and automation.

  • Communications: Collaborate with corporate communications to create a holistic, value-driven communications plan to increase employee awareness, engagement, and appreciation of Assurant benefits.

  • Employee Experience: Develop insights related to employee experience through surveys, focus groups, and other feedback tools to optimize offerings.

  • Compliance: Ensure programs comply with applicable regulations and manage certain compliance activities, including Creditable Coverage disclosure and Gag Clause attestation.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in Global Health & Wellbeing benefits, including experience with self-insured plans.

  • Experience in vendor management, including request for proposals (RFPs), contracting, and renewal negotiations.

  • Proven ability to drive process improvements, gain efficiencies, and enhance employee experience.

  • Proficiency in data analysis, including data collection, cleaning, interpretation, and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to benefits (e.g., ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA).

  • HS Diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree or equivalent is highly preferred.

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have? 

  • Master’s degree is plus.

  • Related certifications such as Professional in Human Resources or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist credentials are preferred.

How much travel should I expect?

  • Up to 10% annually.

Pay Range:

$86,000.00 - $143,700.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
