Our goal is to make the road to financial empowerment easier for plan members to keep them well informed and motivated to understand and capture the benefits of their employer-sponsored retirement and savings plans. Whether your day or week is working from home, on-site at one of our clients or enjoying work from our office, if you’ve ever wanted to explore specializing in the exciting field of Group Retirement Savings - this is your opportunity to join us! Working closely with the Client Relationship Manager (CRM) and the employers who partner with us for their employee benefits, you’ll identify financial education opportunities for their employee base and deliver the content you develop. Your focus will be on group retirement plans, but also on the other realms of financial wellness (savings, debts, investing, etc.) As a Financial Education Advisor, Group Retirement Savings, you’ll work closely with our established clients on financial education initiatives, participate in finalist presentations with our business development team, and deliver your superior client experience when meeting with members in the group and one-on-one virtual and in-person meetings. While meeting with plan members, you will draw on your ability to share information, provide guidance and financial advice.  This can be done through interactions during group retirement education sessions, or via one-on-one meetings scheduled on-site or by webinar. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Prepare and peer reviewing recordings of financial education content.

  • Collect feedback after a session and summarize the results for the client and Client Relationship Manager.

  • Assist the Education Team with the online education webinars made available to all GRS plan members. You may be the presenter or in a support role.

  • Participate in finalist presentations and roadshows to share our Financial Wellness story and our education offering.

  • Engage with new plan members to welcome them to their workplace plan and the support offered by Desjardins.

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and being able to influence others.

  • Participate in internal projects, as needed.

  • Track the number and type of meetings to ensure accurate reporting is available.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and/or Life License Qualification Program (LLQP)

  • Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients

  • Advanced to expert knowledge of financial products and solutions (priority given to individuals with group retirement products knowledge)

  • Advanced knowledge of technology and presentation tools

  • Must have a valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle

  • Available for travel mostly in western Canada by car and air at the request of members and clients
